Do basketball coaches actually

coach? or do they manage?

It's an honest question. I played and understand football and baseball, but the notion of "coaching basketball" has always eluded me. It seems to me a successful basketball coach is #1 a good recruiter, and #2 an organizer of talent. (Disclaimer, I am actually one of those Brownell fans so I think that should carry some extra weight)

Look at Duke when Coach K was out because of medical issues.

Take any legit program and look at where coaches left while still having talent. Talent keeps you competitive, but coaching plays a major impact in nurturing and leveraging that talent.
