ATT was kind enough to raise my internet price by 125%

I called and bittched and got it down to a mere 40% increase, but they also upgraded me from 10MB/s to 18MB/s download speed (which is interesting because, since I am a mile from the closest repeater, they weren't able to provide the 10 MB/s).

They also said they would upgrade my router, but they sent the exact same one I have.

So, should I:

a) swap them out and send the old one back, even though they are the same model
b) just send the new one back
c) call them and waste an hour to tell them they are idiots
d) blow up the store in Clemson

10 mbps? You can get faster speeds on a cell phone

We pay for the 18 mbps speed. You can get close to that at 6AM. But when everyone is here, it's usually between 3-10 mbps. All for the low low price of: Amount: $171.15

Question....18Mbps or 18MB/sec? Yuge difference there

Most ISP's advertise Mbps.

I get 400Mbps, which is 50MB/sec, which is actually faster than my router and most wireless routers today. You can get that fuill speed if you have a wireless AC adapter and are standing right next to it. In my office though, about 24MB/sec is all I can get.

watch HD on Netflix, on ONE TV, and forget 4K.

Unless you live in the sticks and/or that's your only option, I'd look for a new service. Spectrum in my area starts at $44.99/mo for 100Mbps, which is like 5+ times faster than what you have. Probably have a new customer discount if you want a yearly haggle.

Actually, there may be a deal with Verizon where you could use 5G once it gets there. Their "unlimited" data costs about as much as you're paying now for internet probably. Would be faster at 4G than that anyway assuming you can get a 4G signal out there.

Tell them you need to change the name on your account. When they fool around and "get to a screen" 10 minutes later and ask "ok what will the new name be"? Tell them Ligma. They'll want to confirm and spell it out. Do so. When they ask for the last name tell them "BALLS. Ligma BALLS." Make sure you emphasize the BALLS part. Abruptly hang up then go online and cancel.

This was the confirmation I have been looking for to know I made the right decision to close the door in their face.

some bimbette in the Phillipines picks up the hold like it was a new call. Can't transfer me to the manager I was talking to. Puts me on hold. At a 2:11:12 call time and on hold, the call ends.

Had to call back and start over. At least I'm talking to someone from Alabama.
