Maybe they are trying to have it earlier in the season, just in case things goes south. Just a guess.

Could be but I just think they could have scheduled some good rival matchups that weekend like FSU_-Miami; Clemson-GT: UVA-VT to compete with BAMA/ Auburn and Ole Miss/Miss.St.

That also would have been a great comeback to the SEC not allowing the instate rivalry games. SEC we don't need your teams for rivalry weekend. LOL.
