The purpose of the rankings was to try and establish some sort of system that will allow the comparisons of teams across multiple conferences. It was borne out of the idea that the SEC, while great at top, is brutal at the bottom, and that SEC teams should not get credit for beating putrid teams just because they are in their conference.
It is by no means official, but I hope it is objective. And I hope it provides a basis of conversation that does not delve into "you suck" or "if you played our schedule" or whatever.
The numbers are what they are

You mean "The Official Tiger Swag"? That is a take off on "The Official Tiger Rag", which we all have from games in the 80s.
Other than tuition and IPTAY dues, it has no affiliation.
Other than that, I'm a little confused.
