With the ACC in shambles and daily talks about schools leaving for other conferences, yes, we can blame Swofford, but I'm afraid our own adminstration is keeping us on this sinking ship far too long. Barker completely supports Swofford and our BOT Chairman came out in support of the ACC and the addition of Louisville!!! Louisville? The lowest rated school 161 (academically) in the new conference....so much for the academics argument. Plus, adding Notre Dame without football has backfired. Notre Dame IS NOT going to become an ACC football member, why would they, they are playing for the national championship as an INDEPENDENT, they DON"T NEED THE ACC!! Why in the #### would our adminstration vote for a $50M buyout clause, they fell for Swoffords shell game and now we are stuck!! Barker, Wilkins and the rest of the BOT better wake up and look at what could happen to Clemson. It may be time to start sending letters, faxes, and email's to our adminstration and express our concerns or at the very least get an explanation from them as to what direction we are moving in.

Our leadership does not have any other options. The Big 12 is almost laughable at this point in time.

interesting choice for Slive and SEC. Conventional wisdom has been that SEC is only interested in new markets (NC and VA) and that FSU and Clemson would never be SEC targets. The B10 moving into Georgia, Virginia ( and most likely NC) may change that calculus. If SEC doesn't pick up FSU and Clemson, they go head to head with B10 in GA and the B12 in SC and (most importantly) FL. If the SEC really wants to nail down the Southeast, they forget about the state of Virginia entirely and take FSU and Clemson.

flawed logic here... it's about the SEC network... doesn't really matter how many people tune in every week.. it matters that cable networks will be able to charge $1-$3 a month for the network... They can do that in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina now. They don't need any other schools. If they add V Tech and Nc State they add million of households= millions of $$.
IMO... an expanded big12, with a solid core comprising the East Division (Clemson, WVA and FSU) is the best option at this point.

If the fanbases of CU and FSU call their respective cable companies and demand that they not be charged for the SEC network all this could be counteracted. Solidarity among these fans could have a big impact on any expansion moving forward

(Clemson and FSU) held back from blowing up the conference last summer but the pencil-neck geek schools (Ga Tech and UVa) may blow it up for us...

Just stay home and maybe they will get it, or blow your money to watch Wake & Duke .
