ACC Championship will not be a sellout...

Nov 25, 2019, 10:08 AM

Looked at Ticketmaster this morning and based on tickets available this years game will not be close to a sellout. A lot of tickets remain and the end zone upper decks have not even opened up yet. Unless VT fans travel in droves expect a crowd of 45,000 or so. Everyone is saving up for the semis I suspect.

8 of us will be there . Fortunately can just drive

Nov 25, 2019, 10:12 AM

$200/night at the Westin..booked in July

$40 per ticket. Bought in august.

So it should be a small hit on the wallet.

Driving down from the Tidewater area and we spent $40 also. Unfortunately I think I’ll be seeing a lot of turkeys on I85 south.

Water is wet. Hasn’t been a sellout for quite some time. I will be there +3, looking forward to it.

Tickets where very hard to get and expensive vs UNC . It was a mad house getting in the stadium

Virginia Tech generally travels pretty well...

Nov 25, 2019, 10:14 AM

Virgina on the other hand, not so much.

That said, I'm not sure either fan base will be keenly interested in spending the money and traveling all the way to Charlotte to witness their team get boat raced by Clemson.

Re: VirginiaTech generally travels pretty well...

VPISU will not be a cakewalk but the Tigers can handle them if they approach the game correctly. And I expect coach Dabo to have their attention all week.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You'll also see ticket sales for the ACCCG pick-up...

Nov 25, 2019, 10:24 AM

after Saturday.

Their program is finally showing signs of life again. Their fans have to be hopeful.

Re: ACC Championship will not be a sellout...

Nov 25, 2019, 10:23 AM

Yeah, as you said, everyone is saving up for the semis. I don't regret a penny of what we've spent on going to the the CFPs as a family over the last few years, but WHEW, these trips are expensive! The trip to the Bay are was insane with the costs, and with a trip to Glendale (3rd time in 5 years?) looming as a potential...yea, driving up to Charlotte and spending money there is not high on our list.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A good problem to have albeit expensive...

Nov 25, 2019, 10:28 AM

After a couple of trips to the Orange Bowl, a couple of trips to Glendale, a trip to Dallas (and College Station for the A&M game), a trip to Tampa, a trip to New Orleans, and a trip to San Francisco, the disposable income budget has taken a real hit.

Everyone is saving up for the semis? Really?

Nov 25, 2019, 5:50 PM [ in reply to Re: ACC Championship will not be a sellout... ]

Clemson fans in North and South Carolina can go online tonight and buy four tickets to the ACC CHampionship game for $45/each. You can drive to the game Saturday afternoon and most likely drive home for less than 20 gallons of gas. You'll be going to support a team may be going for its 28th win in a row in pursuit of a second straight Natty.

Please don't tell me anyone is saving up for the semis. That's simply bogus. If you live within 150 miles of Charlotte and there is an empty seat in the stadium, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Go Tigers!!

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A lot of the endzone seats have been sold as the 4-pack

Nov 25, 2019, 10:34 AM

deal. I think total attendance will be 65000-70000.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Clemson completely sold out its allotment...

Nov 25, 2019, 10:42 AM

so Tiger fans who didn't purchase through IPTAY, which will be a good many, will be buying from the secondary markets.

Assuming the weather is cooperative (unlike last year), we'll have a good crowd.

Re: ACC Championship will not be a sellout...

We don’t even have an opponent yet...simmer down.

It will be a good crowd, depending on the weather. IPTAY sold out so other Tiger Fans will be waiting on the secondary market to open up next week.

Re: ACC Championship will not be a sellout...

Nov 25, 2019, 11:04 AM

$300+ for a respectable seat. Ain't worth it to me. TV works just fine.

If they aren't selling out the stadium every year, they need to lower the ticket prices.

Just because some people got a special deal 5 months ago doesn’t change the fact that face value for the club seats is well over $200.

Some of us support the school and buy from their allotment so we pay face value.

Ticketmaster shows one for sale in lower deck for $89. Section 225.

Most others in lower deck are quite a bit more expensive.

Every year I’ve been to Charlotte the stadium has been full.
Most of the seats on ticketmaster are $40 so not sure why so many are waiting.

$40 is for upper deck tickets only. If you want to watch the game, why would you sit in the upper deck?

I’m sure once the Coastal is decided the Va or Va Tech fans will buy up tickets. I wouldn’t buy tickets until I was sure my team was going to be there.

I bet the VT fans will show up they just have to make sure they are in first.
Early in the season they looked pretty bad so not a lot of reason for them to buy tickets early.
If they beat UVA, look for tickets to go faster... maybe not sellout, but they will show up.

Me+3 as well. Only 90 miles away so no hotel needed. So we splurged again on the same seats we had last year. Club seats on the 40, row 5. Thanks to folks on here telling me to buy from the Charlotte Sports Foundation where we got them at face. Anyone still looking try calling them and save money.
