A gem from Spurrier on Cowherd

Jul 23, 2013, 1:12 PM

Cowherd said he always thought it was the players' responsibility moreso than the coaches when they got in trouble, citing Braun, Hernandez, and Manziell. He then asked if Spurrier agreed?

Spurrier said that if the coaches allowed it to keep happening then it was more the coach's responsibility. I almost fell out of my chair laughing! I only wish Cowherd was a competent enough interviewer to turn right around and ask him about Stephen Garcia and what the old ball sack was doing on that one.

on the depth chart. If you're on the two-deep you can get away with murder.

I think you're confusing Spurrier for Urban Meyer.

Jul 23, 2013, 1:55 PM

Both coached at Florida, so it's an easy mistake.

But i dont think he ever did anything worthy of getting kicked off, he did things other college kids did, just didnt understand the microscope he was under. Keying a car, underage drinking....

5+ strikes?

Jul 23, 2013, 2:22 PM

You're joking right? Causing property damage, showing up drunk at team functions, etc... pfft, no big deal in your world?

The above should be all anyone needs
