What Clemson fans should watch for
9 AM ESPNU- Trayvon Mullen #2 CB COMMITTED TO CLEMSON Choices- Clemson, FSU, LSU, TCU and Louisville The scoop- Mullen visited TCU and LSU during the season. Later Mullen visited FSU, Clemson (January 15th) and then Louisville- where his cousin Lamar Jackson plays. This past weekend he took another trip to Louisville but, according an interview with CardinalSports.com, his mother said, "He's not interested in them at all" and his top three are Clemson, FSU and LSU. .
9 AM ESPNU- DT Michail Carter (6-4 300) #15 DT Committed to UGA Choices- UGA, Bama, GT, Auburn and Clemson Carter, an Under Armour All-American, visited Georgia last weekend, Bama (Jan 27), GT (Jan 22) and Clemson on January 15th. Georgia has heavily recruited him but Bama has attempted to make up ground lately. There are plenty who would be surprised if he didn't pick the Dawgs.
9:30 AM CB K'Von Wallace (6-0 175) HAS COMMITTED TO CLEMSON!!! Choices- Clemson, Ohio State and Cincy. The Cincinnati commit has been busy lately visiting Virginia Tech, Clemson and then Ohio State. His stock has rocketed lately as the offers have rolled in with consistency.
12:30 PM OL John Simpson (6-4 290) #7 OG WATCH LIVE HERE - http://thecube.com/cube/fort-dorchester-high-school-n-charleston-south-carolina Choices- Clemson or Florida. Tiger fans have been hoping for a commitment from Simpson for a very long. The Army Bowl All-American appears to be down to Clemson and Florida- the two schools he's visited recently. His crystal ball pick is currently 100% to Clemson- according to 247sports.
1 PM ESPN2- DL Rashan Gary (6-5 300) #1 DL Choices- Michigan or Clemson Its down to Clemson and Michigan for the nations top overall prospect. Gary is just as good as advertised and appeared to be very dominant at camps and all-star events. Rarely will you see recruiting sites agree on the top overall recruit but this year it was a no brainer. If he choses Clemson, he will bolster an already elite defensive line class which has the potential to dominate the opposition.
5 PM Tuesday- S Isaiah Simmons (6-3 205) #16 S COMMITTED TO CLEMSON Choices- Clemson, Nebraska or Michigan Clemson coaches made the trip out to Kansas to sit down with Simmons and later he decided to take an official visit. Since then his crystal ball pick has heavily trended towards the Tigers. He has also visited Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois and Missouri. Michigan's Jim Harbaugh also made an in-home visit with the Semper Fidelis All-American.
Tuesday- S Romeo Finley (6-1 200) #15 S Committed to Miami Choices- Georgia Tech, Miami or Clemson Finley recently visited Miami and all indications are that he had a great visit. Finley has also spoke highly of Georgia Tech.
ACC schools to watch- FSU- UPDATE- Landed #18 DE Brian Burns Landed CB Carlos Becker Lost S Jamel Cook who flipped to USC The Seminoles have a very strong looking class and are hoping to solidify it on Wednesday. They are in the running with several top recruits and could even push LSU for the top overall class. Alabama is trying to pluck several current FSU commits and prospects while the Seminoles are trying to lure Florida commit DE Shavar Manuel. OL Landon Dickerson would be a major get for them. QB commit Malik Henry must mature or his high school antics could hamper the Seminoles.
Miami- UPDATE- Lost CB Tyler Byrd Landed CB Jeff James Landed S Romeo Finley Coach Mark Richt was able to land a commit from US Army All-American CB Malek Young- who was in talks with Georgia. Some other notable four star commits include Shaq Quarterman (#5 LB), Jack Allison (#8 QB), Pat Bethel (#14 DE), Tyler Byrd (#10 CB), Sam Bruce (#11 WR) and Travis Homer (#10 RB). Tennessee is trying hard to get Tyler Byrd to flip though. 13th ranked WR Ahmmon Richards will select between Bama, Auburn and Miami- according to 247.
Duke- ATH Jacob Morgenstern (6-4 210) is a rangy recruit who has the skillset to line up at multiple spots on the field including safety and wide out. Four star safety Dylan Singleton has given them a verbal and is rated as the tenth overall prospect at his position. Duke is still in the mix for massive DE Prince Sammons (6-8 280) who holds over 20 offers. DE commit Chidi Okonya is an ESPN Top 300 recruit who will try to boost a Blue Devils pass rush which struggled last season.
North Carolina- The TarHeels already have 8 early enrollees, including one-time Clemson DB recruit Myles Dorn. Elite WR Nate Craig-Myers, ranked as the nations #6 WR, cancelled his trip to Ole Miss last week and also eliminated FSU from his list. UNC was able to flip four star QB Chazz Surratt from his commitment to Duke. They were also able to flip CB Myles Wolfolk from Virginia Tech. It appears that DE Allen Carter (6-5 245) will choose between Arkansas and UNC. CB KJ Sails will decide between Cincinnati and UNC.
Pitt- UPDATE- Landed #27 DT Keyshawn Camp, according to 247sports Monday evening the Panthers received a huge commit from 4 star CB Damar Hamlin. Pitt was also successful in flipping Penn State ATH Aaron Mathews (6-5 190). Eighth ranked ATH George Hill has also given a verbal to the Panthers. 4 star DT Keyshon Camp would be a big get for them but Camp is also considering Ohio State and Missouri.
Other schools to watch- USC- UPDATE- Lost out on S Brandon Burton who signed with UCLA Flipped S Jamel Cook from FSU to USC The Trojans currently only have 13 commits but have 6 already enrolled, including four 4 star prospects and 5 star DE Oluwole Betiku who is the nations top DE. Those already committed include Michael Pittman (#8 WR), CJ Pollard (#12 S), Tyler Vaughns (#3 WR), Cary Angeline (#10 TE) and Frank Martin II (#20 OT). Third ranked CB Jack Jones is a strong USC lean according to 247's crystal ball. The site also has sixth ranked S Brandon Burton as a 47% USC lean. Four star DE Connor Murphy (6-7 250) could likely decide between USC or Michigan. The Trojans and Wolverines are also the likely leaders for TE Devin Asiasi- who visited USC last weekend.
Baylor- The Bears have had four 10 win seasons since 2011 and yet they haven't had a class finish in the Top 20. This could be the year. The class is headlined by QB Zach Smith, OL J.P. Urquidez, OL Pat Hudson and WRs Devin Duvernay and Tren'Davian Dickson. A pickup from JUCO OL Malcolm Pridgeon would be huge if the Bears can beat out Ohio State and Rutgers. They'll also attempt to flip Texas A&M CB commit Charles Oliver- who visited Waco a few weeks ago. Oliver is rated the #15 CB according to 247sports. Elite safety Brandon Jones is also taking a look at Baylor.
Georgia- UPDATE- Have landed DL Michail Carter and ATH Mecole Hardman Have flipped WR Tyler Simmons from Bama to UGA Landed 3* OL Solomon Kindley It will be interesting to see how Kirby Smart does on his first Signing Day as a head coach. Several quality prospects are eyeing a UGA committment but other SEC teams are attempting to flip numerous Dawg commits. One to watch is lineman EJ Price who decommitted from UGA last year but remains interested. UGA is also trying to flip Gator safety commit Jeawon Taylor. Dawg fans are also anxious to see where 5 star DL Derrick Brown will go.
Florida- UPDATE- Flipped WR Tyrie Cleveland from Houston to FL Have lost Tyrie Cleveland who flipped to Tennessee DE Shavar Manuel has decommitted VIA Twitter, watch for FSU here The Gators have a decent looking class already and had a record 12 early enrollees. Five of the twelve early enrollees are ranked as being 5th or better at their position, according to 247's rankings. Clemson and Florida are battling for elite OL John Simpson's services. Current Houston Cougar commit Tyrie Cleveland has mentioned his status is now up in the air and Florida received his final official visit. Cleveland is currently ranked the #2 overall receiver and said his current top three is TCU, Arkansas and Florida. 5 star CB Kristian Fulton would be a huge get for the Gators.
Ohio State- On Monday night, the Buckeyes landed a commit from elite CB Jordan Fuller (6-1 200) and already have seven 4 star recruits enrolled. Three of the top eleven tight ends have also given OSU a verbal. They also have a verbal from International Bowl MVP Dwayne Haskins- who plays QB. Top ranked DE Nick Bosa and third ranked DE Jonathon Cooper will also play in Columbus.
Alabama- UPDATE- Landed #9 CB Shyheim Carter Landed #9 CB Jared Mayden Lost TE Brandon Scales who flipped to Missouri DB Joshua Perry has decommitted Landed #1 ILB Ben Davis The Tide only have 17 commits currently but a majority of those committed are elite prospects including Charles Baldwin (#1 OT), Jonah Williams (#2 OT), BJ Emmons (#2 RB), Jalen Hurts (#3 Dual-Threat QB), Deonte Brown (#9 OG) and Chris Owens (#10 OG). Bama also received a commit on Monday from 7th ranked CB Nigel Knott. Signing Day could be huge for them as they are in the running for top ranked ILB Ben Davis, #1 OLB Mique Juarez, #1 WR Demetris Robertson, #3 DE Jeffery Simmons and 4th ranked S Nigel Warrior. 7th ranked DE Terrell Hall also listed Bama as one of his top four schools.
9 AM CB Lavert Hill (5-10 175) #12 CB Committed to Michigan In an interview he announced his three finalist are Michigan State, Michigan and Penn State. Hill sported a Michigan State hoodie at school on Monday.
9:30 AM CB Carlos Becker (6-2 185) #15 CB Committed to FSU Perhaps no one has made a larger jump in the rankings than Becker. Ohio State has really pushed for his services later in the process and twice have sent coaches to see him. He's visited FSU, Ohio State, NC State, Ole Miss and others. However, the pundits are writing he is an FSU lean with the Wolfpack having an outside chance. Coaches from FSU recently made an in-home visit but a last minute visit to Ole Miss certainly makes things interesting.
10 AM ESPNU- LB Dontavious Jackson 6-2 240 #4 ILB It currently looks as if the top three are Texas, FSU and Oklahoma- with speculation being that the Longhorns are in the lead for the Houston native. If the Seminoles can pull this one off they'd be pressing for the top class in the nation and are in the mix with several other elite recruits.
10 AM ESPNU- LB Ben Davis (6-3 240) #1 ILB Committed to Bama Alabama would appear to be the team for Davis but Auburn and Georgia are in hot pursuit.
11 AM ESPNU- WR Nate Craig-Myers (6-2 205) #6 WR Last Thursday he eliminated FSU and is down to Auburn, Ole Miss and UNC. Several pundits are speculating that he and his half-brother, CB Jayvaughn Myers, will select Auburn.
Noon ESPNU- OL Landon Dickerson (6-5 300) #4 OT Considering Tennessee, Bama, Florida, Auburn and FSU. Dickerson visited Clemson last year for the UNC game. During an interview, Dickerson mentioned he wanted to major in engineering so it appeared at that time that Clemson could be a player in his recruitment.
1 PM CB Kristian Fulton (6-0 180) #2 CB Fulton has a top three of Florida, LSU and Arkansas. His last visit was to Florida but his parents are trying to get him to stay closer to his home in Louisiana. This will potentially come down to the Gators or Tigers and how much of an influence on his decision his parents have.
1 PM WR Keyshawn Young (5-11 175) #60 WR Michigan, Louisville and USC are his final three according to his Twitter account as of Friday. However, FSU has received two visits from him and the Seminoles believe they are in the hunt. Additionally, Young has been a lifelong Seminole fan. Keep your eye on this one.
2 PM ESPN2- OLB Lyndell Wilson (6-2 220) #2 OLB UPDATE- Has eliminated Florida Coaches from Georgia and Bama have frequently visited him lately. This is one that could go down to the wire. According to 247sports, Wilson's crystal ball pick is 93% in favor of the Tide. Auburn is another school rumored to be in the mix.
2:15 DE Terrell Hall (6-5 250) #6 DE On Monday night Hall released a final four of Alabama, FSU, Maryland and Ole Miss.
2:45 OT EJ Price (6-6 310) #8 OT Price has made several visits lately including Georgia (Jan 29), Auburn (Jan 22), USC (Dec 11) and LSU (Jan 15). Price decommitted from UGA this summer and made a trip to Tennessee. After that trip he released a top three of Tennessee, Auburn and Georgia.
3 PM ESPN2- DT Derrick Brown (6-4 315) #4 DT This has been an interesting one to follow that has had plenty of interesting developments. In recent months he visited Tennessee (Jan 29), Georgia (Jan 22), Auburn (Jan 15), Bama (Dec 12) and Miss State (Nov 28). After his visit to Knoxville he Tweeted the lyrics to 'Rocky Top'.
3 PM ESPN2- TE Devin Asiasi (6-3 270) #3 TE Rumored to be down to USC, UCLA, Bama and Michigan according to 247.
4:30 PM- CB Jack Jones (5-11 170) #3 CB Finalist include USC, Bama and Texas A&M.
8:30 PM- LB Caleb Kelly (6-3 215) #3 OLB Down to Oklahoma, Oregon and Notre Dame according to SBNation.com.
6 PM February 1st. CB Damar Hamlin (6-1 175) #14 CB- Committed to Pitt This would be a huge get for the Panthers but the Nittany Lions and Buckeyes likely round out his top three.
TBD Ath Jamel Cook (6-4 190) #2 ATH Committed to USC In a recent interview, Cook stated he'll decide between USC and FSU.
TBD DE Brian Burns (6-4 215) #5 DE Committed to FLST In consecutive weekends Burns has visited Georgia, then Florida and both Bama and Florida State. He frequented those schools throughout the 2015 season. 247sports crystal ball has him as a 72% FSU lean.
Committed RB Amir Rasul (5-10 200) #9 RB Rasul rushed for three TDs in the Semper Fi All-Star game and has been a FSU commit since July. However, Alabama is making a huge pitch to him and claim 'he's a priority.' Say what- "My Florida State commitment is still solid, 100 percent," Rasul said. "I'm really considering Alabama."
Committed WR Keith Gavin (6-3 215) #20 WR Once again Alabama has pressed hard on an FSU commit. While it appears unlikely that he'd flip, coaches from Bama will be in his ear until the end.

OSU seems to be loading up again in the Big 10. Why

would Gary pick a school who is going to finish behind OSU now and for the next several years. Surely he knows that. Why freeze all winter and be hind ### to the Buckeyes? Mr. Gary, you're an intelligent guy - pick an elite school down South - Clemson is FAMILY - join the family - you'll NEVER regret it.

You're right. I tried my best not to ramble or go on and on but felt that I put just enough to cover it. Trying to limit the size of the post nowadays. Gotta stick to the basics.
