A Few Biased Opinions

Mar 23, 2020, 12:15 PM

In order for us to form a more perfect union, there are some things I believe we need to do. We need to eliminate our bias and hate and replace it with love and a heaping helping of common sense. The United States is not perfect but it is the best thing going on this planet. Our families and our businesses cannot succeed if there is dissention among its members and employees. There has to be "give and take" to arrive at a mutual solution. The same plan has to work for our nation. We must come together and determine the best course for the common good. Instead of forging a greater nation by working together, our political parties appear to have adopted tactics to drive wedges between our citizens, a certain route to failure.

Having grown up through the depression and several wars and now the coronavirus, I see a difference in the attitude of many of our citizens. There was no money during the depression, but there was ample sharing and caring of what we had. During WW2 and the Korean War, we came together as one people in a show of patriotism that would make each one of us proud.

Are we now so blind that we can't separate fact from fiction? We haste to judgment before we know the facts. We blame the other political party for all of our ills and our own party as having the answer to all our ills. We watch and listen only to certain TV and radio outlets, believing every word they espouse is the honest truth, and those other outlets are feeding us a pack of lies. It appears to me many of us are like sheep being led to the slaughter, unable to think for ourselves.

We would need a new president for your vision. I am not sure who that would be though. I dont like any of the options.

There are no good choices running right now that will make it on the ballot.

We need leaders who don’t act like elementary school children ridiculing each other and being vindictive towards one another. They’re supposed to real leaders and act like the adults in the room. The ones that make the most noise and clamor for attention are not doing that.

Congress would be busy putting together the "terms of surrender" to the beer-virus if such were possible.

That'll never happen as long as people are
