What is the most offensive yardage ever gained in a single

game by Clemson?
And 2. Will the Tigers gain 1,000 yds in a single game this year? I think, when clicking on all cylinders, the potential is there.

the 81 game against Wake Forest.
Clemson had nearly 760 total yards of offense, most of which were rushing yards.

It's hilarious to think both fanbases came out of that game feeling like it was close but in actuality we were never remotely in danger of losing it. If they hadn't called back Amari's (I think) TD before the end of the 1st half for that awful OPI call it would've been a 4 TD game.
We could've scored 70 if we had wanted to that night. It might've been 70-49 but we could've done anything on offense.

Not likely.
I think Pitt loss in 2016 was our most production and DW4 had almost 600 yards himself. That is DW4's record and I kinda default to that but I don't know the rushing total....

And as for the "not likely" is that Dabo cools off the production once the game is in hand.
For the Dabo era, to make him push 100% for 4 quarters you would need another team keeping pace with our 1st string setting records and BV being helpless... and I dont know if those two things are possible.

eventually pretty much abandoned it. Our running game (and OL in general) wasn't nearly as good in 2016 as it had been the previous year.

I'd say either running with your pants down or using a fart to propel yourself forward. Those are pretty offensive yardage situations.

Most yards gained by a team in a Division 1 game
1,021 Houston vs SMU in 1989 (250-rushing, 771-passing) and SMU was coming off the death penalty, so it is very unlikely for a team to reach 1,000 yards of total offense now, since most teams don't run up the score the way Houston used to do.
Having said that, the record for both teams combined in 1,708 2016 Oklahoma vs Texas Tech, each team gained 854 yards, so it is possible, but both teams have to have lousy defenses & give up quick scores so there are lots of possessions, but Clemson's defense is way to good & Dabo would never run up the score like that
