I think that's why they targeted him. At 6'4" 265 he isn't huge for a DT but if he is counting toward the 2015 class that will give him time to add weight and work on his game. He could be a good pickup for that class.

How do u know what hos gpa is. Clemson doesn't take kids that don't have a chance to get in prep school os never the first option. If we offered he has a good chance to get in. Even with a 2.1 and decent sat will get u in..

2.10 (Core) GPA means 970 ASAT for NCAA eligibility...

He still has a whole year to raise his GPA as well, although who really knows if that is his real GPA, or more importantly his Core GPA.

I don't know what Clemson's own standards are for admittance for student athletes either...I wouldn't be surprised if it differs based on caliber of player....but he still has some time to improve his GPA.

I would say though that it would make a little more sense for us to offer him if we think he's more likely to be a Class of 2015 prospect. Our numbers are very tight for 2014, and I thought we were basically only looking at oversign quality players at this point. This commitment kind of caught me off guard.

He doesn't seem to be a real star and his grades are really, really bad. This isn't an exciting one, but like you said, maybe he can be like Shaw Lawson and it'll be a high upside smart investment.
