2018 Natty vs. 2016 Natty. Which is your fave?

Feb 1, 2019, 12:59 PM

APM goes back an fawf.

The ending of 2016 and DW4's journey can't be topped.

But overall, with 15-0, CW42 and Renfrow, TLaw, 5, 8, the pick 6, and the curb stompin' of Bama, I have to give it to 2018 as being our best Natty.

1981 was such a different era for football, for Clemson, etc., that they really can't be compared.

Re: 2018 Natty vs. 2016 Natty. Which is your fave?

Feb 1, 2019, 1:04 PM

2018. I watched sober and loved it. In 2016 I was hammered and didn't really remember it well. I had to watch it over again a few days later.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

2016 I cried in the den after the game was over.

Feb 1, 2019, 1:06 PM

2018 I was in disbelief as we just beat the living #### out of bama. I prefer 2016 but, TBH, I think 2019 and 2020 will be my favorites.

2016 won't ever be topped for me

Feb 1, 2019, 1:09 PM

The dramatic way we won, thought 2015 might have been the season everything broke right and we fell just short and I wasn't sure we would be back so soon, plus I was there in person in Tampa and may or may not have cried when we won.

2018 was insanely satisfying to shut up the "SEC! SEC!" crowd and to spank the kings of college football but 2016 will always be the most memorable.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I still wish the football team or at least a bunch of fans

Feb 1, 2019, 1:34 PM

would have chanted that afterwards.

That would have probably p!ssed off U5C fans worse than hiring Fat Brad did.

IF you are 40 or under, 2016 was like losing your virginity.

Feb 1, 2019, 1:32 PM

2018 was like lucking up and hooking up with a 9 when you were used to 7's.

2018 was fun, but I imagine 2016 will be more special.

I still like how 2016 we beat the "best defense ever" with

Feb 1, 2019, 1:34 PM

Watson throwing for like 420 yards. And then 2018 we beat the "best Alabama team ever" with a 28 point beat down.

I agree with your analogy, although...

Feb 1, 2019, 1:39 PM [ in reply to IF you are 40 or under, 2016 was like losing your virginity. ]

2016 was like getting a fine piece of vajayjay, 2018 was like sticking it in her butt.

2016 wins on drama.

Feb 1, 2019, 1:35 PM

2018 wins on just being able to enjoy it during the game.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

To clarify, I'm referring to the whole season 2016 vs 2018

Feb 1, 2019, 1:58 PM

After all, if Chase Brice doesn't get it done against the Fighting Babers, we ain't even having this discussion.

I gotta say 2018 because 15-0, overcoming the QB controversy, watching TLaw blossom, the 20+ butt kickings administered, beating ND, then beating Bama's asssse.

As for the moment, nothing can ever beat the end of the 2016 natty game. That one goes down in history for all time and can never be topped. That's not even up for debate.

Re: 2018 Natty vs. 2016 Natty. Which is your fave?

Feb 1, 2019, 3:35 PM

2016 was amazing and surreal but I have to go with 2018 if for no other reason than I was lucky enough to see it in person.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It is hard for me to compare.

Feb 1, 2019, 3:54 PM

For me, the 2016 team relieved the pressure of winning one. I did not want to become a team that kept getting close and not doing it. This season was more enjoyable due to less stress.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

1981.

Feb 1, 2019, 3:59 PM

The sheer volume of debauchery before, during, and after the 1981 Natty was exponentially greater than 2016 AND 2018 COMBINED.

ringofhonor-rhtig.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How early do we need to start the debauchery this year so

Feb 1, 2019, 4:06 PM

the 2019 Championship can compare?

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not sure it's even physically possible.

Feb 1, 2019, 4:12 PM

Many of the sex acts are now illegal, over half of the drugs aren't even made anymore, and I'm not sure the younger generation can even murder at the rate we did back in the 80s.

Re: 2018 Not even close.

Feb 1, 2019, 5:28 PM

A total 44*16 askwhuppin for ESPiN's GOAT and the first 15-0 in the poll era. That's a record which won't be broken, forever and ever and ever.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpgringofhonor-clemsontiger1988-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Very important IMO to note the historical aspect of 2018.

Feb 1, 2019, 5:40 PM

It's a milestone/record that can never be taken away from the 2018 team. They may expand to 16 games or something, but until then the first modern 15-0 team is a HUGE, historical accomplishment.
