2012 NC State game was absurd

i can clearly remember looking up at the East Endzone Scoreboard at one point: 03:00 left in the 3Q, 55 points on the board, up by 17... yet somehow just as uncomfortable as I was when we were down by 11 early in the 2Q.

Even after scoring 6 unanswered TDs, it just seemed like we could never stop them. Not sure i've ever seen a team hit more long plays in 1 game than State on this day. 4 of NC State's TD Drives took just 1 play.

Tajh set a school record with 531 Total Yards and 8 TDs (5 passing, 3 Rushing). But, N.C. State’s WR Tobias Palmer set an ACC record with 496 all-purpose yards (Also breaking the Death Valley record for All-Purpose Yards in a game held by Peter Warrick 97) . He had 277 yards on kickoff returns and caught seven passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns. Mike Glennon was 29-of-53 for 493 yards and five touchdowns.

ironically, our secondary woes that year led to one of Dabo's Ace hires in Mike Reed in Dec 2012, who was NC State's secondary coach in this game.

I remember that game very well, but I had a different feeling sitting in the stands.

I had a conversation with my dad, who watched on tv, the next day. He was telling me how close we were to letting that game slip away.

I disagreed and told him that in the stadium it felt like Clemson could have scored 80 if that's what it took to win. I didn't ever think NC State was going to stop us from anything we wanted to do on offense.

The Mike Reed of that one game snapshot seems like Dabo took a surprising chance.

I do remember that year that NC State either led or was very close to the top of the country in INTs.
