Re: 20 years from now, Jalen Hurts will walk Bama sidelines...

Reminds me very much of Texas kept pulling Major Applewhite in favor of Chris Simms. Simms was clearly more physically talented, but the Texas fans loved the grittiness of Applewhite, who had been Big 12 Player of the Year (like Jalen Hurts). He was just a gamer, and after finally losing his job to Simms in the 2001 season, nearly pulled off a incredible comeback in that game against Colorado where Texas was playing for a BCS Title bid pre-Vince Young. Simms was awful, threw a bunch of picks, and then got injured. Applewhite engineers a miracle comeback but falls just short. Then, in the bowl game with Simms still hurt, sets the school record for passing yards in a game in his finale.
To this day, Simms had a better record, but Applewhite is more beloved QB, and ranks higher on the All-time list of Texas QBs in virtually every list you'll see. I could the same for Jalen Hurts, provided Tua doesn't come back and win a 2nd NC this year or next.
