Can you name a Tiger game where the Refs were more 1 sided?

Dec 3, 2014, 3:20 PM

than on Saturday? This was despicable, and it cost us our starting LB for the bowl game.

It shouldn't pass without a fight, someone needs to bring it to the attention to the league.

Agreed. I was more frustrated with the Orange Bowl for some reason.

It never should have been close and it goes down as a shootout because the refs literally kept keeping them in the game. I remember at one point seeing Ohio State palpably invigorated/motivated by a bogus call.

I can't remember a year in whole where they were as bad. Specifically the "targeting" calls, hopefully the head of NCAA officials has a good look at things over this season, because there are quite a few things that need to fixed or changed. But yeah, the SC game was as 1 sided as I can remember....that's why ONE thing you heard no complaints from coot fans was the officiating, they know they got the calls in that one. Its pretty bad you still lose by 18 playing a 1 legged QB and still get all the calls.

Ohio State was bad last year, but not like Saturday

Dec 3, 2014, 3:32 PM

I was just laughing at some of the calls they were making Saturday, especially the non- call of the fumble at the end.

memories. Like Lou Bello calling our field goal no good for being "too high". Or the time the VT QB faked a hand-off and was rolling out with the ball behind his back- we caught him and slapped the ball from the small of his back and they called it an incomplete pass. Not stopping the clock at Georgia when our player went out of bounds within easy field goal range at the end of a game. I don't have enough time to list those memories - many of whcih actually changed the outcome of the game. Oh - how about Flutie handing off to an RB who fumbled the ball forwrd with it hitting before it got to the goal line and Terry Kinard recovering it in the end zone - called a TD and we lose instead of running out the clock, On and on.

Actually, we tied BC that year, 17-17. Troy Stafford

definitely fumbled into the endzone....I have faith they would overturn it nowadays

been a Clemson fan for 43 years and that game was the only, and I mean only, game I've ever seen where the Tigers got all the calls. Not that we needed the help, but dang, I felt sorry for VT by the end of that game. After all the years of being Ron Cherried, we know how it feels.

1). "Trick play" with Stanley Morgan lining up near sideline before sneaking behind the secondary for a TD pass. (It was an illegal formation then).
2). Linemen illegally down field on last (winning) TN touchdown.
3). One of our DB's asked the ref how many timeouts the Tigers had left. "You've got one and we've got three" was his reply (True story told to me by the DB).
