Boyd says team meeting grew out of Orange Bowl loss
Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd said Tuesday afternoon that he called a players-only meeting because he wanted to make sure his teammates knew that one loss didn't end the season. However, he says he saw some things that reminded him of Clemson's loss in the Orange Bowl, things he thought needed to be addressed. Full Story » |

Our team needs leadership as bad as anything. They need an example, someone to look them in the eye and say "you can do it" and mean it!!!
Its great to see that Tajh loves/respects the game and Clemson enough to pull the team aside and reassure them he is on their side and to keep their heads held high! Out of leadership come great things
Go Tigers!!

Why does it fall on Boyd to state the obvious? Our staff has demonstated an inability or unwilingness to establish an effective player deveopment program. Boyd is way ahead of them in terms of facing reality. Weak and soft on the line of scrimmage----both sides. Who's accountable? OMG, we dare not question our strength program.

It's not just about you or the team, it's about Clemson. Though we lost I loved seeing the offense march down the field one last time and score a TD as if to only say that we are not the same team that rolled over in the orange bowl. We're going to fight until the final few seconds in the game. On that note I like that Dabo wasn't giving in either. He still went for 2 to try and get it to a 10 point lead and then tried an onside kick.
Never surrender, fight until you can't anymore. That's the heart of a winner and a champion. Doesn't matter if you win or lose as long as you gave 110% there's no need to hang your head. I hope the D listened to this and took it to heart.

The D is bad but FSU is the best offensive team that we'll play in terms of talent, GT is more of a scjeme thing. However, if our O stays at the level it's at no one else on our schedule can out dual us. Our O hasn't been stopped even after playing 2 good defenses. If they stay that way we'll shred the remaining ones we play.

Actaualy, we were stopped in the 2nd half, when our O line simply couldn't hold up to their D line.

I respect Tajh and what he is trying to accomplish here...

but in my opinion if you want to call a "players only" meeting then it should stay between the players and behind closed doors - not in the media. I'm sure someone put a mic in his face and wanted the details, and I'm sure it was the polite thing to do to oblige. I don't know... I just sounds like he is bumping his chest about being a leader. I know that's not his intent.
I'm not trying to be harsh on Tajh. I think he's great. I wish this had been handled differently.

I'm sure that what was said was very loud and emotional and he gave a very very watered down version to the media.

It is more than just the players who need to not go off the deep end.

So this is going to improve our defense, the lack of talent? I wish speeches would do that, but I really don't think so.
