Question about the stadium.
Aug 29, 2016, 12:47 PM
|
|
I haven't been to a game since the 90's due to money issues, but I still remember how much fun it was sliding down the hill between the West end zone and the north stands on cardboard when I was a kid. In face, the memory is so vivid that it's all I can think about and it has kept me going during a lot of tough times, including family deaths, divorces, and multiple house fires destroying all my belongings.
So for the past 5 years I've been saving up every penny, working 3 jobs, and selling a lot of plasma just to make the trip back to the stadium and slide down that hill one more time, and finally, the weekend is here. If it weren't for the anticipation of this glorious occasion, I'm not sure what I'd do.
So just one question....where can I get some good cardboard once I get to the game?
thanks and go tigers.

Surprised your 87' Grand Am is still running, with you being a car guy, I'd figured you for a Merkur XR4Ti guy. Can't park the Grand Am on Avenue of Champions.

You said it brother, nothing screams status like a Pontiac, that 2.2 litre engine is a beast, as hot as it gets there is no need to bring yer grill. Just slap those BBQ cocktail weiners on the manafold and your walking in high cotton.

cents if the police keep asking you to move that collector's edition Pontiac.
This fine shanty holds all of your cardboard needs.
I could put in a good word for you with some of the socialists in the Lunge if you're still in the market?

Hay man, we will be in Lot #2 tailgating beforehand
Aug 29, 2016, 1:30 PM

so just come on by. We should have plenty of cardboard you can rent for activities and stuff. With it being a 12:30 game, we should be pulling into the tailgate spot by noon if all the JERKS will just get out of the way. By the way, we leave by the end of the 3rd quarter to get a headstart back to the house in Gaffney so make sure you return the cardboard by then or you do not get your deposit back.

Would you trade a pair of practice-worn Cliff Ellis knee socks for say, 2 hours of cardboard rental?

Maybe I can help. Not with the silly cardboard, but with a

parking spot and tickets. I park at the Ave of Champions and have 12 lower deck tickets behind the Clemson bench on the 50 (well, the 50 splits the middle 2 seats, so technically the other 10 are not quite on the 50.
Unfortunately I have some issues this weekend keeping me from going to the game. I am on the board of my country club and for some reason we have a board meeting (UGGGH) that I've been told I cannot miss, plus my friend from Scottsdale is coming in for our annual member-member. My son is playing in a Lacrosse tournament up in Maryland, my daughter is at a dance convention in LA, and my wife has a tennis tourney out in Kansas City....so it looks like everything is available.
Every single one of my friends have similar seats and parking so they don't need them. I don't have the time to waste selling them for an amount that just won't justify the actual blue collar work it would take to sell the.
Here's the deal. And sorry if this comes off the wrong way but I have a reputation you know. You can tailgate in the parking spot if you promise to not park that car of yours there. Park out at the Y and bus in, feel free to set up chairs etc. in my spot. And for the love of god do not speak to anyone around you and don't act impressed by the cars you see.
The tickets are yours if you promise to stay seated and if you can find a way to bathe the day of the game. We do not tolerate the youthful standing nonsense as we are a sophisticated group. I cannot subject my business partner to foul smells, so the bathing part is in fact important.
Send me a tmail if interested. I really love helping people and hope to, under the aforementioned arrangements, help get you a return trip to the stadium this weekend.

work.
#1-It's a long way from the Y to the stadium and I'm not sure that my Hoveround scooter battery will make it that far. I am going to get there really early and just park at the Hardee's.
#2-the 50 yard line is really far away from the northwest hill that I want to be sitting near.
#3-Do you have any cardboard I could use?

Question for me and my fellow disabled veterans with PTSD
Aug 29, 2016, 2:11 PM
|

about the stadium noise. Are we going to continue the cannon fire after every touchdown and field goal? I feel conflicted about when we score because it reminds me of when I lost both legs and both arms at Gettysburg. I'm happy when we score, but the cannon blast takes me back to that field hospital... Images of gangrene, amputation, and sawdust to soak up the blood along the ground stir every time we add to our lead during a game.
I [obviously] had a friend type this up for me, but we would like to know if something could be done about that policy. I also have a problem with the stadium clapping since I can't... I was wondering if that could stop too.

take offense when the stadium announcer says "please stand for our pledge of allegiance and National Anthem."
Just seems like they're rubbing salt in the wound.

So how do you plan to get back up the hill after you slide down? Have you thought this through all the way?
