Renovated Littlejohn at the forefront of technology

Littlejohn Coliseum has been cordoned off and undergoing renovations for almost a year, and Athletic Director Dan Radakovich told the media earlier this week that one of the first things fans will notice are the technology upgrades.

Watching college game day on the largest curved center-hung screen in a basketball arena in the country would be cool.

70's 80's and much of the 90's before games. It was great because you could go in and sit in an air conditioned environment while tailgating. They eventually started blocking off the seating areas because I imagine some didn't know how to act in a mostly empty arena.

Giggity!***

game when you don't have tickets. Heck, I can see lots of people people hanging out in there all day. Now if they only served beer....

Maybe some of the students can watch it there***

Yes Phase 2 of the plan to make DV look like Bobby Dodd

Stadium. No one sitting in the stands.

I think much of those empty seats in Bobby Dodd

Posted: Apr 14, 2016 11:28 PM

are held by corporations and unused tickets.

Showing our game for those without tickets

or other games after ours is over could get folks in there to spend money on concessions/gear.

less "genius" more "well FINALLY"

I don't know why it was closed in the last many years. It's RIGHT THERE next to DV; bathrooms and concessions and merchandise and all kinds of different activities inside the nice AC.

The "money grab" comments might do well to keep in mind that it costs money to open the building and clean it up afterwards. They might make a little but it'll be nice just to break even.

Now that the building has been upgraded, I hope they decide to upgrade the basketball program.

Those "upgraded" Verizon towers in DV are just AWESOME!! ;~{o

$$$$ money grab

Who cares--just another money grab. Simple things like better restrooms are never done
in the stadium. How does opening it up for a football game make any difference to anyone.
Rad is about $$$$ nothing else.

Going forward, this should help us win a couple more games, right? At least the ones we are favored in? Up the middle, up the middle, pass, punt!

What are "soft goods"?

Before: Sh*tty basketball program.
After: Sh*tty basketball program in debt.

DRad is a bottomless pit of spending. Guys, I'm warning you. Dan Radakovich is bad bad news for Clemson University.

So you don't think we need the new athletic facilities he has overseen?***

Only 9,000 seats seems awfully unimpressive to me. The Citadel area is not all that far behind that! It seems that Clemson will be competing with the smaller teams when it comes to attendance.

9,000 seats

Posted: Apr 14, 2016 10:10 PM

Cameron seats about 9k.
Villanova's seats 6,500

I am not sure it really matters as long as people show up.

REAL Genius would be ...

Posted: Apr 15, 2016 9:02 AM

... if they kept it open for two hours after the football game ends so people can hang out, maybe watch the game recap or another game ... while traffic clears out. :)

Re: REAL Genius would be ...

Posted: Apr 15, 2016 9:07 AM

... AND to use 50% or 75% of the revenue generated from this venture to "give back" to the students and give them a discount on their football tickets ... It would be a WIN-WIN-WIN!!
