Just received an email advisory - price increase to $64.99/month. It probably won't be long before the OTT providers are as bad as the cable companies.

I don't think so, but it now has this garbage:
Today we are also adding more of ViacomCBS’s family of channels to YouTube TV, which includes 8 of your favorites: BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, TV Land, and VH1.

I’m livid about this. Seriously, who did they poll that would ever have any of these channels in their “favorites” list?! I get that CBS is the real prick here given that they aren’t renewing licenses unless providers take this junk (maybe Viacom should just shut this garbage down altogether), but YT needs to tell them to stuff it, or put it as a separate “favorites” add on package.
It’s always the same - add the stuff no one wants and keep ignoring the stuff people really want.

Is 99% garbage. But it is included in every cable/satellite/streaming service because it is cheap for the host. One big reason there will never be a true ala carte service. Because so many channels would disappear overnight.

So far, it seems to be a bit more clunky, requires more clicking to change channels and is dropping small packets occasionally, but maybe worth the $10/month cheaper price. It'll be an easy choice over the 30 day free trial.

I keep seeing a commercial for a new YT type coming online july 15th. Has anyone seen this?
Btw I got the same letter today and told my wife the same thing. Who voted on that junk?
I like yt tv, It does have the tennis channel and some decent sports channels. The acc network to name one. But here we go again.

They're officially getting bloated, I was happy until I got the notification about the new channels which I'll never watch, but now I have to pay for.
I would love to cancel, but unfortunately I think it's the best streaming service for me.
It won't do any good, but I'm letting them know I'm not effing happy at all.

I've been YTTV 8 mths or so now. I've bounced around between Hulu Live, Vue (when it was a thing) et al. Sling always buffered too much for me - I could never get past the trial run with it. But I'm stuck now. I already subscribe to Hulu for the OD stuff (every season of Family Guy, American Dad, Archer....basically all the terrible adult animation). So cost savings for me would be add Live to my Hulu. But I have all the Clemson games on my YTTV Cloud DVR. With no live sports, I would have to get out of my TV app and go watch sports on plain YouTube somewhere. Plus the Hulu layout isnt very friendly for live TV type watching.

Already considering it prior to the email about price change, but a 30% increase in price was enough to make it an easy decision. I may regret it and have to figure out another path come football season, but for now, can't justify $65 for my usage.

It's ridiculous what they charge. I cut off cable 2 years ago and haven't missed a day of it except the high bill. I paid less for a year of streaming service than what it cost for one month of YouTube. Never been happier and get more programming than what any of these services offer.
