If you're referring to former usuck HC Brad Scott....
Dec 13, 2014, 8:31 AM
|
|
he didn't leave chickenville for another job....he was fired. Then Clemson HC Tommy Bowden hired Coach Scott (whom he knew from Scott's long association with Bobby Bowden at FlaSt). usuck fans to this day spout vitriol about Brad Scott, but never mention that he was, at the time, the "hottest" assistant coach in college football and the chickens ALL thought they'd set in motion the recipe for football success by spiriting Scott away from Tallahassee....just another lesson in "Fail" by the chicken football program

I can remember all the way back to Marvin Bass, and I believe Sparky is the only one that has gotten any kind of HC job after leaving USUC. I believe Marvin Bass later served as an assistant under Dan Reeves in the NFL. Reeves played for Bass at USUC.

business, and although a Carolina grad, he never hesitated to tweak anyone's nose...including those at his Alma Mater.
Unfortunately, he was a victim of the great purges at "The State," once that paper began its slide. Today, what with all the brownnosing by that crowd toward the Carolina administration, I doubt you'd ever see that type of cartoon.

Suffice it to say....

Clemson has 3 Hall of Fame coaches (AT LEAST):
John Heisman *(they've named an award for him) Jess Neely Frank Howard
Don't believe the chickens have any as of yet...although, given their efforts to try to BUY one (and the ensuing NCAA probations), its likely Holtz and Spurrier will eventually be inducted, but naturally for their records at other schools. The chickens pretty much have the cartoon graveyard in the original post. Now, the chickens do have something Clemson doesn't have historically---a Heisman Trophy winner (see * reference above)---you may now insert any and all jokes about Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and the white lines on the highway.

I qualify......even with "the streak" their history includes an 8-12 record over the past 20 years, 14-25-1 over the past 40 years and 2 wins over a 23 year period (including 7 years of suspended play because of bad behavior) where they were out scored 65 to 366!!!! Is that enough???

I can say one thing about that graveyard...LOUser Holtz is still pissed about getting his ### handed to him by the TIGERS. He loathes, despises, hates everything CLEMSON and you can tell it every time he mentions us. It's fun to watch the old LOUser throw his fits on ESPN knowing how much pain he is suffering when he speaks. CLEMSON absolutely exposed LOUser as being an 'average' coach on his best day.
