Tiger tailgate show (Pregame) with Russ Cassell and Jane Robelot early 80's...followed by Jim Phillips game call. This was the bumper music in and out and between the radio show.

The radio show was way huge back in those days. We were lucky to get a TV appearance 1 or 2 times per season back then so if you couldn't attend the game, radio was your go-to option.

I want to say it was 1979... (maybe '80?)... I think '79.... Anyway, I remember it wasn't long after our win over Ohio State in the Gator Bowl - Danny Ford's first victory, the whole Woody Hayes thing, and the war chant, "To H-ll with Pell!" - this tune was actually, however briefly, like a top 10/100 hit on national radio. Oh, yeah. And the Clemson University Tigers were - however briefly - the most celebrated college football program in the country, and on the verge of winning the NC. Ahhh, good times, indeed. I remember the drive down to the Orange Bowl and the [chatter] on CB radio... one of those, "you'd have to have been there", experiences. LET'S DO IT AGAIN!

I've been using this as my ringtone for the last year or so.

I've still got the vinyl to prove it.

That's when the pregame show was actually enjoyable.

Pretty sure it came out just before the '77 Gator Bowl vs. Pittsburg (Pell's first year!) I remember my Dad saying that he heard it playing all over Jacksonville prior to the game. I think we lost 34-3 and then won next year in the infamous Woody Hayes Gator Bowl game!

With cool highlights from Jim Phillips. There was also one for 1977 but I don't have a copy. Cool piece of 70's Clemson football fandom.

highlights from the 80's with Jim Phillips could all be put together in a digital format. It would be great to have snipits from the 81 UGA, UNC, SC, and Orange Bowl as well as snipits from UGA 86 and 87, FSU 89, and all those great bowl games. It would be the ultimate Jim Phillips and Clemson 1977-1989 tribute to that era (Pell and Ford).

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.
