Poorly educated people have legitimate concerns just like over-educated and well-educated people have. They shouldn't be condescended to, and the condescension from more mainstream candidates has given us the candidacy of Donald Trump. We can say he's the candidate of "stupid people," but calling those people stupid is bound to get a reaction against our elitism.


What's funny to me is that if certain non-chosen people talk about "poorly educated" people in a condescending way, it's considered to taint their entire campaign (a la Romney and his 47%). If other chosen people talk about "poorly educated" people in a condescending way, then it's just a small thing (a la Obama talking about people "bitterly clinging to guns and religion"). Then if some really really non-chosen people talk up the "poorly educated," then it's just a sign that only stupid people support them.
