Using players numbers for jersey sales

May 13, 2015, 12:38 PM

IMO college teams should just use a generic number for all jerseys sold. Personally ive never bought a jersey because of the number. I buy it bc its orange and has the tiger paw on it. Clemson could go with 81. I know thats Seckingers # but if all were the same he shouldnt feel entitled to compensation. If so just retire that number. Show the up and coming recruits that Clemson is about the whole team not just a few stars. I would be first in line to get mine. With this said i geuss the coots would have to use 00.

I think it wood simplify things for the Coots if they wood

Good idea but the officials would need all ten fingers to let the official score keeper know who committed the penalty.

Then maybe this guy would be the solution?

What is it about an internet forum that makes ppl want to act like dbags. I bet youre one of those fraternity punks that wears bowties and studies horticulture. This is a real ongoing issue in CFB today so i geuss all fans are under 15

I don't wear bowties.... Pappy always said you can't trust a man that wears bowties

Uh, what?

May 13, 2015, 2:08 PM [ in reply to Re: Using players numbers for jersey sales ]

Whats wrong with jerseys? Can college graduates not wear them or something?

I'm sure college graduates can wear jersey's but there is no reason for them too, unless they're in the pro's and on the field.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

People wear jerseys to all sporting events...

May 13, 2015, 2:32 PM

NFL, NBA, MLB, college sports....it's no different than wearing any other form of team apparel, and it's CERTAINLY better than the frat goons who wear off-color polo shirts and bow ties to the games...

I agree with you about the frats, just don't think grown men should wear jerseys.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agree to disagree

May 13, 2015, 2:35 PM

I don't wear jerseys to clemson games, but I wear my Roddy White jersey to Falcons games and don't feel out of place...plenty of other adults wearing jerseys as well

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There really isn't anything wrong with it.

May 13, 2015, 3:23 PM [ in reply to People wear jerseys to all sporting events... ]

It is just that a large number the adults wearing them are meatballs.

I would say anyone old enough to go to college should refrain from wearing them, but hey- it's my opinion... Maybe it's because I'm not a Yankee, I dunno.... And FYI, it's fine for girls to wear them so if you're a girl, then by all means...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Haha, no, not a girl

May 13, 2015, 4:30 PM

but I do agree that it's more of a northern thing.

That being said, I see plenty of adults at Falcons/Braves/Hawks games in jerseys.

I see your point though

The university owns the jersey's and numbers 0 through infinity that could be placed on them. They can seek anyone of them that they want and make more readily available the more desired or popular jersey's.

Sell not seek.

dumb idea is dumb

May 13, 2015, 2:07 PM

keep making the jerseys based on who the current stars are. #28, #10, #2, #6...
