University of Connecticut fans reporting on a tweet

Nov 19, 2012, 4:38 PM

by John Milner, that Connecticut could be invited to the ACC as early as Tuesday. Who is John Milner? I don't know other than he is at least a writer for a major city newspaper. Like one Connecticut fan said, that doesn't make him right, but it at least means he should have credible sources, unlike a dude of WVU etc.

In no way would I ever want to trade Maryland for Connecticut if only for the reason of contiguousness and footprint, but that ship has sailed. The ACC will have to pick up a 14th and I prefer Connecticut to Louisville. I would actually prefer Navy to either of them.

conference adding another school and leave it along with GT, FSU, Miami, NC State and Virgnia Tech to greener pastures of the Big 12. Let Swofford have his basketball schools.

Really Navy?

As much as I love pulling for the Academies to do well what do they bring?

I would like to see all of the current conferences
dissolved and new ones created. (based on geography)

The current chase for expansion is merely a ploy to
generate more revenue for Institutions that have already misspent everyone's money IMO.

The only people who are winning at the moment are those
that stand to profit from Universities expanding their footprint. (University presidents, BOTs, etc.)

This is coming at the expense of the fans/alumni that
will have to pay more to attend away games to support their respective Universities.

(as well as further damage the environment and the U.S. dependence on oil)

I hope the ACC adds UCONN, Georgetown & Penn State and Notre Dame joins the Big 10.

I wouldn't mind seeing the ACC add West Virginia as well.

The ACC may have missed out on a real opportunity by not adding West Virginia (when they had the chance) and losing Maryland to the Big 10.

Navy for football only. Makes things nice and even with 14

teams for all sports and it would give the ACC a 6th game with ND every year.

You loose Maryland, and you loose the contiguousness of the conference, and also the Baltimore/Washington tv market.

Navy fills that void.
