UGA has not been relevant for years. The only recruits CLEMSON would lose to UGA are the ones that truly just want to play at UGA, so they will go to UGA regardless of how it affects their future. I haven't seen much impact to the NFL from UGA players, so that tells me all I need to know.
Again - UGA is not relevant. Hiring Smart was NOT smart.

years are Hyatt and Watson. I think this shows that, although they grew up in the bulldog state, they wanted to play for a winner. Same with XT, grew up a Coot but wants to play for a winner.

Yeah personally I never understood the "home state" thing in the first place. Is that real? Is Georgia that blueblood with in-state players? I live in NJ and you don't see the top in-state NJ talent going to freaking Rutgers or Princeton - they go to real football schools like Southern Cal, Michigan, or one of the ACC schools. I think the "but he grew up there!" bias is vastly overstated.

the state of Georgia had 27 players drafted in the 2017 NFL

Draft. UGA had ONE. And he was from Florida.
Georgia, with 27 players selected, took the title for most draftees narrowly edging out Florida (26), California (25) and Texas (24).
This is a bounce-back year of sorts for the Peach State, which saw its draftee total dip to 15 last spring after producing 30 in 2015. Georgia provides perpetual fuel for the nation’s top programs with players like Clemson’s Deshaun Watson (Texans) and Ohio State’s Raekwon McMillan (Ohio State) highlighting the state’s draftees.
Bulldogs fans will wince reading that, considering the Bulldogs had just one player (Isaiah McKenzie) selected.

Huge difference between Rutgers and UGA, as well as the states of NJ and GA. I've lived in Georgia my whole life, and the whole "in state team" support thing is very real. I imagine it's similar in states where football is king and there is a true football school there a la Michigan, Bama, Tennessee, LSU, etc

I can see your point. Growing up in NJ, I didn't watch much CFB until I got to Clemson, and now I consume it more than any sane person should. The northeast is much more pro-centric and I think kids grow up with favorite college teams - if at all - picked at random. Certainly there is an argument for Penn State I suppose, but that's a good 3 hours away and has been suffering its own demons the past several years.

Sports are king. My experience with NJ is that the majority don't care about college sports as much as pro.
States like Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, Arkansas, Kentucky, Ohio and even rural Northern Florida (i.e Spiller) ...are all places where the home state schools reign supreme and tough to get a top notch kid to leave the state. GA or st east Atlanta is becoming more and more transient so it doesnt resonate maybe as much as it used to.

What do you mean.....YOU TIGERS! Is this the ol .001% accounting for the whole fan base type thing? Dabo said exactly what he was going to do and what going to happen when he was HC, not to mention most of us were pretty happy it brought CJ Spiller back for his SR. season as well.

I only saw one mention on the sec rant board, they're mostly worrying seriously about the lack of commits in general and whether Smart was a mistake. . I don't have 247 access.

There's no reason to freak out over number of commits with practically a year left til NSD. Admittedly Georgia isn't off to a great start, but Bama also only has three '18 croots committed so far. (They are much better than Jawjas though)
Some schools recruits need all that time to think about if they wanna go there or not. They can't all be like Clemson where a recruit steps one foot on campus and knows they are home

Newest ones matter. White, well we'll see. If your administration wasn't scared, Clemson/UGA would still be playing every year. Sorry about the facts.Otherwise, the only time we think about UGA is when we're laughing .

Us pissed at UGA. That's rich.
Look dood, I get that you are a true UGA fan the same way we are all true Clemson fans. I get that your opinions are slanted towards UGA the way we slant to Clemson.
But if you honestly believe that UGA has anything on Clemson at this point, then you are living in your own little fantasy land.
What has UGA accomplished in the last 10 years that gives them any sort of leg-up on Clemson? All my UGA buddies still cling to the whole "2 yards away from the national championship" nonsense from 2012....yet Clemson has been to the title game 2 years in a row, and is currently the defending national champion.
Clemson has won 3 conference championships since 2011....when was the last time UGA won the SEC? Or what about just the east? Even freaking MISSOURI can come in and win your lousy division 2 years in a row.....MISSOURI, who only managed 2 championship appearances in all their years in the Big 12 matched that number in just 3 years in the SEC.
Clemson has snatched the state of Ga's top 2 QB recruits over the last decade right out of UGA's backyard.
You claim that UGA's struggles are due to one bad recruiting class...that's a bunch of nonsense because UGA has recruited as well as anybody not named Alabama in the last decade, with what to show for it? A win over Clemson in 2014? If that's what helps you sleep at night, then go ahead and be proud of it.
Truth is, UGA is in Clemson's rear-view mirror and it doesn't look like that's going to change any time soon. UGA will continue to recruit well, and you may even win your sorry ### division a couple times. We may not get all the guys we want out of Georgia, but we will keep getting all the ones that matter.
Good luck to Kirby, I'm sure he aspires to one day have his program where Dabo has Clemson right now

Zero Division titles and Zero SECCG appearances.
Clemson is 38-3 with 2 division championships, 2 conference championships, consecutive national championship game appearances, 3 CFP wins including the NATIONAL EFFING CHAMPIONSHIP.

The Clemson v UGA reality I like best? Two Tiger natty's since the Dawg's last one. I'd put odds on Clemson getting a third or fourth before the Mutts get one. Heck, Clemson might get more titles before UGA even gets a play-off spot. They need to beat those Chickens and Gator-tails in the SEC-Least...not to mention those hounds up in TN.
