Turns out Kickball is a dangerous sport...

Was playing yesterday in the Kick it With Cam celebrity Kickball tourney on one of my wine suppliers teams. Luke Kuechly and Montel Jordan our celebrity teammates.
Anyway, bases loaded, 2 outs, ball kicked deep into center field. I dove to make the catch and landed all my weight on right hip, breaking my femur bone in half. Had surgery this morning for a metal Rod, plates, and screws inserted into my leg. Got a few days left in the hospital. Y'all say a prayer for a healthy recovery fellow Tigers.

And the medic did think it was dislocated, I thought that myself until they picked me up to move me and I almost blacked out from the pain. Knew then it was serious.

Hope you get well soon. I know what you're going through. Broke my femur in a car wreck at 17, still got the rod, still feel weather changes. It will be a tough recovery but, you'll make it. And you'll have a cool battle scar on your hip to show for it. Hang in there bud. Godspeed.

place rods and plates- I had to spend 6 months in traction from getting 7 inches of femur bone shattered by bullet in Nam. Nothing really left there to reconnect. Still can't believe that much bone can regenerate in the correct alignment with all the muscle tissue around it. Wish you a speedy recovery.
