Saying goodbye to a friend tomorrow.

Jul 20, 2017, 10:17 PM

We are putting our 11 yr old Boxer down tomorrow. Ole boy has aggressive cancer and, as hard as it is to say, it's time to let him go in peace while he still has his personality about him. We are getting him and our bulldog (best friends) a double cheeseburger and an ice cream to enjoy in the park and they'll have a good run. Tomorrow is gonna be a hard day... tonight is a hard night.

Prayers appreciated.

So sorry to hear that, I had to do the same thing a few years ago, and she was also 11. For whatever reason, Boxers are predisposed to cancer. But that is the only downside to the breed. Everybody I know who has ever had a Boxer says the same thing... I'll never have any other kind of dog. I pray for you to have strength tomorrow, it's not easy.

Nothing like the love a good dog gives their owners and it sounds like you have a great one.

We just had to put down our 18 year old cairn terrier...

that my wife got when she was in HS. Lots of tears were shed Tuesday and I am a big enough of a man to admit that some were mine. I know where you're at but, as you said, it's better to let them go when they still have a sliver of their personality left before it all goes. Ts and Ps my friend. It's never fun to lose a family member.

This was our lil one Tucker.

RIP
