Moon landing, Area 51, Earth being round, and Hellen Keller being deaf and blind.
In Hellen Keller's case, it was all for the publicity and Facebook likes and Youtube followers. See, she cashed in on the disabilities, and flying added to the publicity. As a influencer she could get righteous sponsorships. Then the plane crash?/disappearance was the grand finale where she became famous forever....movie rights, book deals, etc. But in reality she lived on collecting royalties from her shenanigans. Then one day she had a son, who had a son named Elon Musk, and she is the real story behind how Elon Musk got to be so rich.
I can't believe you haven't heard this one.
