Arena Football

Apr 29, 2018, 12:47 AM

I was out to dinner tonight and saw an arena football game. I live in AZ and the Rattlers are apparently consistently good in that league year after year. It got me to thinking, where are these players coming from and why don’t you hear about CU players going to that league? Someone that doesn’t have their NFL aspirations pan out could do worse than playing in that no-defense league... but I never hear about it.

Found arenafan.com, they have a search function by college. This is, I guess, a list from year 1 to Now. But I don’t recognize any of these names as fairly recent CU players.

Lol there are some Great players from Clemson on that list. I
Don’t think guys go from the NFL instantly to area. I would assume if they still wanted to play they would do Canadian league first

That list is a little inaccurate or dated

Since Brandon Streeter is listed on it. Doubt he's spending his free time that way.

it used to be bigger

I remember games would actually come on national TV and the teams were recognized. They even made an Arena league video game at one point and had a magazine. This was the mid 2000s or so.

There is actually a lower level Arena League team in Anderson, playing at the Civic Center. Anderson Dragons.
