In over a century of football you win 22 games in two seasons, and consider it your summit of greatness while another school considers their 21 wins in two seasons something they can build on.

Not talking about the team bud. Just going by what the announcers and your head coach said. Of course the team is going to be excited. Doesn't really matter to me. Just odd from one school to the next how the expectations differ.

You couldn't tell that from his post game interview. I'm fairly certain Spurrier would love to have sex with himself and talk about how it was the greatest **** ever. Congrats on your 11 win season. You guys getting rings again for the champ....oh wait.

Nor does he scream into a microphone or wear his emotion on his sleeve like Dabo.
Call me biased and I know you prefer Dabo over Spurrier, but personally I think Spurrier conducts himself as a head coach better than Dabo. Like I said biased will kick in, but to each their own.

That statement is simply laughable. You'd rather have a prick that trashes everyone else around him when things aren't peachy than manning up and accepting responsibilities? How many players have you guys pulled out from under buses that Spurrier threw them under?
Dabo is passionate, charismatic, and a literal leader. His players feed off his emotion while its simply a miracle that any QB would want to play for Spurrier given his treatment of those around him!

how he reacted to beating Kentucky 3 or 4 years ago? He called his defensive coordinator out in the post-game press conference to field questions about how they let Kentucky drive down the field late in the game. CLASSLESS!!!!! He has a history of being clasless.

Nor does he call out assistant coaches and throw them under the bus at press conferences, nor does he slam his players to the media, nor does he take random shots at other players, teams, and coaches. Instead he expresses joy and happiness for his players and his school. Oh yeah, that's just terrible. Fire Dabo immediately.

Ummmm your coach there in Columbia runs his mouth for no reason all the time. But only when things are good. And by good I mean still no conference title. Yes your New Years Say bowl win was nice; oh wait, wasn't the Heart of Dallas bowl on the same day?? He only throws jabs when times are good, which isn;t being a man. When he was losing to UCONN in bowl games, he never mentioned Clemson. Give me Dabo!! Go TIGERS!!

Clemson was projected to lose. LSU played in NC game last year. Michigan is an 8-5 team. Clemson fans have been hearing about SEC superiority all year long.
Which victory deserves a full celebration?

What do you mean "This was the norm?"

Honest question, before this year, Clemson had 3 11 win seasons, one of them being in 1948, so not sure how normal this is.
And this has never been the norm for the Gamecocks. I'm thankful to be living in the greatest era of Gamecock sports. I know we don't have a great history, but if these seasons keep going the way they are, and we can pull out another win or two in conference a year, who knows what will happen.

Before the late 90's teams only plaid 11 games in the regular season. An 11 win season is not what it once was. Still a very good year, but not elite.

Better go back and review the video, Spurrier was very much teary eyed as a ran on the field to celebrate ( not walk but ran) with the Gamecock players. You need to watch your own replay. You were as excited as Clemson. We knew we would win, you guys did not.

coverage from playing Notre Dame in the NC. Have to say this was a little bit more than just a Chicfila Bowl win..usually teams like yourself play in it but this year we got a contender by default... and ran 100 plays on that tired vaunted defense.....is that really the best SEC defense? I mean ya'll play good but the difference in that game and this LSU game is our defense played...if we had any pressure on ya'll we would have won by 2 tD's.

Saying that this two tear run is the pinnacle of our football history, which is a pretty factual statement, in no way implies that its time to relax and dtop building. Congrats on a big win last night. It is something to build on. However, if you think yalls expectations are any different than ours and that we are already complacent after two good years, I think you will be disapointed going forward.

South Carolina fans, while I may dislike their fans and admittedly look down my nose at them, they do love their team. Their expectations are lower than ours for Clemson, no doubt, but they'll be there regardless. I don't think they can be better than UGA and UF over the long-haul, but as long as Spurrier is there they should be a solid 9-win team and when he leaves he'll leave much improved facilities so they won't drop back to garbage. They'll remain a solid team and with all this money they have now, they'll make another good hire.
I don't think SC can ever beat UF/UGA/Arkansas and Bama or LSU in the same season... ever. Next year they dodge the Bama and LSU?

Next years schedule is the most favorable we will have had in a long time. Uf and clemson at home. No bama or lsu. Do have to go to athens. Sets up for a good year. Unfortunately we have no linebackers returning who have played any. If we take a step back next year the linebacker corps will be the story.

I agree with you. Home field advantage is always more beneficial to the defense of the home team. So, it will help our defense to have clemson and Florida at home this coming season. The Athens road trip will be tough. It will probably be a shootout as we should both be loaded on offense.

Best 2 year run in program history and still no championship

They like to bad mouth Clemson but they all know we are their measuring stick and their 4 year run is what they are the most proud. I don't blame them for that as they have been the step child for 100+ years so this short-term success should be celebrated as there are no championships of any kind in their future.

Best 2 year run indeed. When was the last time Clemson won

22 games in two consecutive seasons? I'll wait.. . . . . .
In all seriousness, I'm proud to be from South Carolina these days. No other state in the country is producing multiple top football programs right now, except Florida (both of whose top 15 squads beat both of South Carolina's top 15 squads).
Truth is, the success elevates our rivalry, and if the games play out like they could next year, the game at the Brice could have national title implications for both teams. I'm looking forward to that, and hope we make it 5 in a row. If not, it's still a great time to be a South Carolinian.
