shamecock ads on tigernet

can anyone explain to me why I keep seeing shamecock ads coming up on tigernet? there is now way this should be happening

Sure. It is called behavioral targeting. The ads displayed are based on the individual user's interest. One of the ways "interest" is determined is based on frequency of visiting certain websites. Not all Tigernet users see the same ads - it depends of where they frequent their time.

In this case, you might have previously visited gamecock related sites so the algorithm incorrectly determined that you like the gamecocks.

However, I supposed it could be argued that the technique was effective - you noticed the ads.

In addition, those websites can specifically target tigernet, though the tigernet owners could put in a filter for any ads they don't want to appear.
