Scott Pagano, for anyone interested...

Apr 30, 2018, 5:31 PM
Pagano.jpg(64.2 K)

His family opened a [really good] ice cream shop in Six Mile.

Saw him there one day when I happened to stop by.

He was very cordial (along with his family).

Looks like he's headed to Seattle.

I hope he makes it.

Hard to really fault him for using that fifth year to try to get some starts. It didn't work out for him mostly due to injuries, but you do understand him wanting to build his resume. Be interesting to see if Albert Huggins, who is taking the opposite approach and sticking it out, ends up being rewarded for staying. My guess would be Huggins' approach is more successful because there's no shame in not being able to beat out a pair of potential Top-10 picks in Lawrence and Wilkins and Clemson's brand is such that there will be a ton of eyeballs on him regardless, but hindsight is also 20/20, too.

Regardless, Pagano busted tail for us while he was here, played a lot of good ball, stayed out of trouble, graduated in four years.

Would love to see him make it in the NFL.

He was wearing an Oregon shirt and I joked with him

saying "You're a long way from home."

He made a quick reply to let me know he played for Clemson probably assuming I didn't know who he was. It's obvious he's a good guy and his family is good people. (Of course not too surprising since that's who Dabo targets.)

Like you, I hope he does well and always has a soft spot in his heart for "God's Country" he was lucky enough to live in for a while. Obviously his family thinks "there's something in these hills" too if they started a business here.

Let me ask you this.

Dexter Lawrence played at about 70% and his snaps were reduced as a result. I betcha if he stayed under Venables he would've had a monster season and gotten drafted.

Seems like I remember BV being a lil' upset that he transferred.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

What's the question?***

My bad.

If he would've stayed does his production in our defense get him drafted?

Good for him - I will be rooting for Scott to do well in Seattle. Will check out the ice cream shop next time I pass through also!

Yeah, the translation was a little difficult so I just pointed at what ice cream I wanted.
