2) 3 and out, we get good field position
3) Score and take early lead
4) Other team has to play from behind against our nasty D!

I think it's all about the "big nasties" on both sides of the ball. I recorded and rewatched the VaTech game, replaying most of the plays 3-4 times. Defensively, we were reestablishing the LOS 1-3 yds deep in the VaTech backfield for much of the game. Offensively, the same was not happening to us nearly as often.

Note 1. Wilkins was flagged for the false start in the jumbo formation, but he was lined up behind the TE. The TE flinched first and then Wilkins jumped.

Note 2. Some of the TV coverage was garbage. They repeatedly would miss the start of the play because they had a camera on the crowd or the sideline or the commentators. While the game was going on I kept thinking I was missing the start of the play. When I rewatched it, I realized I wasn't missing it, it was the production crew.
