The little 60 (now) black lady that I hired 29 yrs. ago is retiring today.
Best worker I've ever had and more than that like a big sister to me. I have a sad.

Be real with her and let her know how you feel. Treat her like you really want to. Of course you already know this...
But make sure to forget her skin color. You miss her for so many other great qualities.
Oh, and if she has a good collards recipe... get it for me.

country with many black mother's, sisters, and since I have returned to the lowcountry , I have added a few black children and grandchildren. The experience of knowing and loving these wonderful folks has been gratifying. Forgive me for being serious for a moment but life has been a moving experience for me. 
Go loving Tigers, I'll share my collards recipe with you if I ever get a chance.
