Except for shennangins in SC that derailed his campaign. Way out of style in recent yrs, but what a man. Admired the independence, the maverick attitude in the name of passing legislation. No regrets that he wasn’t a Tea Partier. A True American Hero.

It's odd how people die almost immediately

after saying they've stopped treatment. Aretha went within a day or so after they announced she started hospice care. That Australian golfer died a day after saying he was stopping treatment. Now McCain.

On the flip side, if they had another treatment, would it have even mattered. Would it have given them another week? Is it worth it at that point?

I think that’s public figures who decided before it was public.

Generally it takes a while. Many people experience an improvement in condition for a while after ending treatment. But it’s coming on like a freight train. Cancer sucks.

Palin was one the major reasons his campaign had any life. He was facing an extremely talented politician in Obama, and he was following up a very divisive Bush presidency.


The blame for Palin is all about the whole "hindsight is 20/20" thing. At the time, she was a very popular governor who was also charismatic. McCain was thought of as a bit milquetoast.
