Remember when it was called the Peach Bowl

Why couldn't they just keep the name and tack on Chick-fil-a at the beginning? Sounded a lot better. Chick-fil-a Bowl just sounds on par with Meineke Car Care bowl, Papajohns.com Bowl or my personal favorite... San Diego country credit union Poinsettia Bowl!

The Peach is technically still around

its charter is dormant. The Atlanta Sports Council (Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce) owns both. The hope is/was that when the BCS expands the CFA bowl becomes one of those and the "Peach" will come back as a pre Jan 1 bowl.

I don't think ASC anticipated it would take this long though.

I agree. They should have kept the monikers for the peach, tangerine, hall of fame, etc. with the sponsors' names prefixed.

...media and announcers will shorten it to "Peach Bowl", which does nothing for Chic-Fil-A's sponsorship.

What do you call the bowl FSU going to? Orange Bowl? or FedEx Orange Bowl. Fortunately, the old school bowls (Orange, Cotton, Sugar & Rose) have to keep their traditional name for their legacy.
