Recruiting Offers - Numbers only

Jul 13, 2020, 9:56 AM

I always find it interesting to see how many offers schools give out early to high school kids, and how some schools just seem to offer any player with decent tape or measureables.

Here are some of the current number of offers (according to 247) for 2022 kids:

Clemson - 27
UNC - 48
Ohio State - 69
Oklahoma - 96
UGA - 112
UofSC - 120
Alabama - 131
LSU - 146
Auburn - 147
FSU - 183
Tennessee - 269

By comparison Clemson only offered 162 for the very large 2019 class and 106 for the entire 2020 class. That total for two finished classes doesn't equal Tennessee's offer total for 2022.

Here's the numbers for 2023 (guys that have only completed a freshman season in high school):
Clemson - 1
Ohio State - 1
UNC - 6
Oklahoma - 14
Alabama - 16
Auburn - 28
LSU - 34
UGA - 36
UofSC - 47
Tennessee - 75
FSU - 122

Alabama, UGA, and Tennessee have also offered one for 2024 (just finished 8th grade).

U of SuC will have more. They offer anyone that can walk hoping someone will be foolish enough to take their offer.

Those numbers reek of desperation.
