What do they base the numbers on? Money spent by fans and income from TV, etc.? I'm guessing, being the WSJ, they have a clear-cut financial basis for their valuation.

So they are assigning a value for non-profit organizations that cannot be sold? I understand the objective, other than getting clicks, but in reality this is meaningless.

Analysis was based upon a multiple of earnings valuation. And there is no standard within non-profits how this is done. Revenues associated with merchandise, donations, can be AD earmarked vs Football, likewise with various expenses.

You're sensible people, where would you invest? Writer could have saved himself a lot of time simply by conducting a poll.
