Why did we not run the ball in the second half?

Sep 23, 2012, 9:50 PM

No one has yet to answer that? Was Andre hurt or what?

Morris admitted to getting out of rythm... Personally...

I think we felt the pressure to continue to hit big plays and score, and that ultimately put us behind the chains.

We didn't have much success running on 1st down in the second half, and that didn't help.

I'm talking about when we were still up. I havent looks but I wouldn't be surprised if Andre only had like 4 carries all of the second half. You can't move the ball if you dog run the ball. If you drop back and pass it very time they'll just bring pressure. I don't get.

Lack of running the ball and the failed zone D frustrated me all night.

I dont know if its Chad or what but everytime we get behind by any amount they feel the need to catch up in a hurry abandoning the run. We did it last year against Usuck and they ran away on us.

the difference in the second half was we lost first down

We lost first down because we stopped running the dang ball.

Ellington carried the ball THREE times in the 3rd quarter, all on the second drive and back to back.

5 yards
5 yards for a first
Then 2 yards on 1st and 10 at the 35

We then went away from Ellington and ended up kicking a FG

Ellington didn't get the ball again until the VERY LAST DRIVE OF THE 4th QUARTER????

5 yards and 1 yd

2 carries in the 4th for a total of 5 CARRIES IN THE SECOND HALF???? #####!!

Now that I look it up it's ticking me off even more.

He had 4 yards per carry and it isn't like they shut him down. What the heck are you thinking Morris??

I 100% agree...

An offense has to be balanced to keep the ends from just speed rushing the qb every play if nothing else. Andre is one to the best rbs in the nation and he needs to keep getting the ball unless we are playing from way behind type scenario, which we weren't until the end.
