FYI, sea-level rise is amplified at the equator, which is why India and southeast asia will go first.
Global warming gets exponentially worse the closer to the earth's poles you get, we feel very little in so far as global average changes in the south, but above the arctic circle, they are experiencing a 10-degree increase in average warming.
We, however, are experiencing is a destabilization of our jet stream, it is slowing down, which causes wild fluctuations in air masses, meaning it is 80 1 day, and 45 2 days later. This is the new normal and unfortunately leads to stronger storms and more erratic weather events, leading to more rain and more flooding. The South West is also drying up and becoming a desert. Those Californians you hate so much will be migrating east over the next 20-30 years as southern Califronafornua runs out of water. No big deal though.
