TNET: Clemson's defense shows grit, continues to grow

Clemson's defense shows grit, continues to grow

Clemson’s defense held UNC in check for most of Saturday’s 21-21 victory, but the Heels put together a late scoring drive that had the Clemson group on its own heels. UNC elected to go for two points and the win, but Venables’ defense made the play it had to make. (Photo by Neil Redmond, USAT) Full Story »

A lot of focus on our 2-point conversion stand. Hopefully, practice will be about the 70 yard touchdown drive that lead to that!

Our offense did not allow the defense to be as aggressive. Stats were almost even for both teams, and we had the turnover that led to 7 pats. Also a missed FG. Plus, UNC led TOP, meaning he defense was on the field for half the game. And, we didn’t rotate as many guys as a result meaning our starters were more tired than usual.

It seems no one else noticed the bell tower rang every time Clemson was in a critical down and distance. This did not happen any other time during the game. Our offense reacts to TL hand claps. The false starts were when lined up on the UNC side hash marks. Anyone notice? Rewatch and see!
