What's the deal with hiring of 2 HS football coaches?

Hiring from NHS in SC and Grayson in Ga. Both look like good hires, but what's the inside story behind it?

Most of the top schools are hiring more. Recruiting takes a lot of time and effort, much more than in the past.

> except support staff can't recruit And Trump has his real hair on top of his head.
They can recruit other HS coaches who have a major influence on the kids and their families. It's not even recruiting it's I've known so and so for 15 years, he is one of the best and I know your child will be in good hands for the next 4 years. Visit to Clemson and it's a done deal, that young man will be in a Tiger Uniform. Feel like the recruiting pipelines in Rock Hill are going to be completely different that in the past.

My Guess

is stocking the shelves with good coaches because like players leaving for the NFL, schools will come after our coaches and CDS wants to bring these guys so he is not caught flat footed. Will Husk from Trehel Construction and Through Mickey Plyler"s show says you do not get the opportunity to hire great people but once. I think CDS is looking down the road and saying I better get some talent in here just in case someone leaves.

We need a SPECIAL MAN FOR A SPECIAL TEAM - ONE THAT IS AN HONOR TO MAKE - COMPETITION WITH ONLY THE BEST PLAYERS CAN MAKE! LIKE THE ARMY'S SPECIAL FORCES - TAKES MORE TRAINING AND MORE GUTS!

Both Grayson and Northwestern have put a lot of D-1 talent into college football recently , so I think part of these hires are yo gain a recruiting advantage on the front end , however small it may be ....and even though Dabo doesn't really need the help . Also , its like some other posters have mentioned , there is good hires to fill future voids and this may be just what CDS has in mind . Both guys run highly respected HS programs that win championships . Winners win and this is a win-win !

Since Dabo can't fix the Special Teams problems with the guys on his staff now ( this means you, Pearman--and God knows you had ample time to do it! ), he's hiring high school coaches to do it. I had this cheaper fix figured out about three years ago. Glad to see Dabo coming around...

Psychic ability or Recruiting. We should get a coach from South Tampa while we are at it. If they land us one Mack or Sammy their salary is pretty much worth it.

Weird that folks talk about fixing STs but never the secondary. We did not lose a single game because of special teams but the secondary cost us a national championship.

Dabo thinks of everything. We have a friday night game this year, so who else would know how to get for a Friday night game other than a high school football coach

In the NATTY, Alexander couldn't play with his hamstring injury and Kearse wouldn't play because he pulled a "Clowney" and quit halfway through the year ( for some reason, legit or not ). That did put the Tigers in a bind from both athletic and experience perspectives. But, we still could have won if we had not ignored sorry Special Teams play for YEARS!

There is a lot of value with these guys, and I think they will make significant contribution on the coaching field and recruiting front.

road to when his staff gets poached with head coaching offers. Elliot, Scott, and obviously Venables, maybe others, are going to get job offers in the next year or two. They may or may not leave, but being in position to promote from within (just like when The Chad left) means stability, and keeps us healthy in the eyes of recruits.
