What is the number one thing Clemson has to do to beat UGA?

As Coach Morris says finish every drive on offense with a kick. XP, FG or punt. If we don't give our defense a short field with turnovers I think we should be good to go.

To put it simply:
1. Protect Cole 2. Good downfield blocking 3. Tackle well and force some 3 and outs
If we do these things we will be victorious again!!!
GO TIGERS!!!!!!!

But what if they pass for 550 yards?

I don't think stopping the run would be enough.

What you don't realize is that we've signed an agreement with Georgia that they agree to limit their passing yards to 250 or less. Legally, we're in a good position.

And make Mason throw the ball then I think we are I'm good shape to win. Imo, we didn't do that great of a job stopping the run last year. If we do a slightly better job this year and force more 3rd and longs then the game should be in good shape to win

Don't turn ball over, control the line of scrimmage,

move the chains on offense, stop the run, pressure the QB, and make no mistakes on special teams.
If they do that, they have a decent chance of beating UGA.

Georgia will rely heavily on one of the best RB's in the country. Stop him and put there offense on there QB's shoulders your defense should be able to shut them down and force some turnovers. If Gurley gets over 100 yards it's going to be a long night for your defense.
I see this game much like last years, two evenly matched teams (that would be the Georgia team at seasons start not finish)giving Georgia the edge with home field.

Seriously, the bus driver can't get lost. No calender mixups. We have to show up to win.
Seriously, I think these teams are extremely even. It will come down to winning the turnover battle and special teams, which is usually rusty for the 1st game.

If we do those things, that would mean UGa has to rely on Mason, the crowd would be out of it, and we'd be able to control the TOP without relying too much on our passing game.

Show up? UGA sucks.
lol - JK
Stop Girlie-uh Gurley. JK again.
But seriously, Gurley is the key. Their QB will NOT beat us. In fact, make the QB try to beat us.
On O - we need to establish the RUN, and protect Cole. Cole will surgically shred their D.

Defensively we need to cut down on what killed us last year: the big play. I think we've got enough big boys up front against an inexperienced offensive line where we should match up well against them head-to-head...but we couldn't get out of our own way last year when it came to getting out of position.
Offensively it's about playing efficiently, early. Get the 95,000 Dawg fans out of it early and it'll give Cole the confidence he needs in his first career start. We know we've got the bodies & talent on offense to win, but we need to be in the right place mentally.
If we do those two things, I think we'll win.
