Is that the fast food variety or just burgers in general? We consume quite a bit of hamburger meat around this house.

Watch the documentary "Food Inc" and you'll never eat another fast food burger. Been 5 years for me. Grass- fed ground beef a-ok, though.

Both...anything factor farmed, processed and packaged...

I simply can't eat red meat anymore and I'm beginning to turn away from meat altogether. After watching so many documentaries and reading so much literature about it, I literally feel sick at the thought of eating it.

If you have ever seen the process for making wieners, you won't buy another one of those either.

It's going to be difficult but I like the challenge. Heart problems plague my family...and there seems to be a direct correlation with heart disease and the consumption of meat...

I've seen some docs about that and processing in general.

But I have to respectfully disagree. Dem MooMoos just make mighty fine eating. Those documentaries did not have the desired effect the VeggieMafia wanted it to have on this guy.

but since then, I just can't come up with any more reasons or excuses to consume meat. Yeah, it tastes good...but what's the cost? I mean, the real cost. Heart disease? Obesity? Increase in global warming (all scientists are finally on board it IS occurring and factory farming is one of, if not, the biggest contributor). You should watch 'Vegucated' and 'Hungry for a Change' if you're interested.
If you found out that they were chemically altering your food to make you 'addicted' to it, you may change your mind on exactly what you're eating. We live in a chemical age and while chemistry has certainly provided us with incredible ways of making life easier, we still wield it recklessly at the moment and don't fully understand the long term effects of what we are doing. There is a reason there is a direct correlation with cancers and diseases in countries that consume meat. As meat consumption in these areas decrease, so do the cancers and diseases....coincidence? I doubt it.
