Wanna talk some Clemson Football?

After all, this is the Football forum of the National Championship Clemson Tiger Football team.

So, after reading about 30 threads of baseball in the FB forum, I figured I would start a topic. Most enjoy my reading. Except for the grammar police. I get T-mails about some of my stories, and for that I thank those people. Hey, all invited to read a positive story through orang-tinted glasses, it does a Tiger fan good.

No in-depth analysis here, just an overview of how I'm seeing things headed into Fall.

About Defense: Need I say more? Sec homers now saying Clemson and AL in the same sentence. It just took them this long to catch on to what Swinney has been building. Our LB core is going to be bigger, faster, and stuff the run like nobody's business. Did I mention that we have a National Championship Defense coming back on the front 4, and deep too? Our secondary is going to be upgraded by aggressive bawl hawks and taller play. Mullen should emerge as a star among others. No offense to Tank and Alexander, I've been a fan of both of them for years. however, Clemson is just re-loading on defense in the secondary. Even guys like Marcus E. may make a game winning play. We're just that good on defense. anyone think we might lead in Non-Offensive Td's this year? It's a possibility. This defense is the most dominant in the league and battle tested to make another run.

Our Offense: Five Star Talent everywhere. From the backfield, to RB, even to QB. We have too much talent not to be competitive and " in the conversation " at the end of the year, maybe more, we'll see.

Our Coaches: IMO the best overall staff in the nation. Notice, I didn't talk specifically on the QB situation in the offensive section. Why? Because of this coaching staff's ability to recruit, train, make good decisions and get the best out of every player that wears a Tiger Jersey. No one is perfect, but I've liked Dabo since the first press conference as I have stated many times.
This staff will place the right players on the filed for Clemson to succeed. IMO, Dabo has no interest in falling below 10 wins anytime soon.

Overall: Maybe I'm just optimistic, maybe I see the defense and all it's strengths. I see the QB battle as a good thing, and we can talk about it all we want. At the end of the day, I don't see Clemson going anywhere. Too much talent all across the board and that goes for the coaching staff as well.

If Bama can do it last year, and help establish them as the " baddest in the land " with NOTD's. Now, that we have the National Championship defense with the most returning starters- I think this year's Clemson D can do the same. It's going to be a sight to watch, and will be a great help in with our younger players on offensive build confidence. Look what at what it did for Hurts last year. He's no outstanding QB, just average, but can run. Had the number one defense carry him and the team, until they met Clemson

The same can be done this year. This Defense is going to be dominant. Look for some TD's by Ferrell, Dex, Mullen, Bryant, etc. Again, this defense is going to help our younger players on offense, give us momentum and could help take this team further than some expect this year.
