Top 10 QBs at Clemson since 1970 (updated):
Feb 20, 2019, 2:31 PM
|
|
1. DW 2. Steve Fuller 3. Tajh Boyd 4. Trevor Lawrence (win natty next year, would probably move to 1. Would probably move to 1 after two more years anyway because of stats). 5. Woody Dantzler 6. Charlie Whitehurst 7. Homer Jordan 8. Rodney Williams 9. Mike Eppley 10. Nealon Greene

Nealon is ahead of Morocco imo. Greene had very few weapons around him and had 3 different coordinators.

Cullen Harper deserves much more consideration than Nealon Greene. Whitehurst clearly is among the top tier QBs and yet is under appreciated by many Tiger fans. I've been watching Tiger football since the mid-1960s so I've witnessed a lot by way of comparison.

Yeah, Chase Brice could be included just for a single game performance/impact. It is tougher to tease out TL's overall 'woulda' performance if he started from day one without the KB impact. Would he have beaten A&M without sharing practice reps? Likely... but we won't know. Brice definitely earned his ring with the 4th&6 and could be consider a great just for that.
interesting note, the coot play in a stadium named after Clemson great Mike Williams and Chase Brice... what can I say, we own every football field in the state.

I think Parker would have had a better shot to be on the list if he had quit football to focus on baseball after his freshman year.
His freshmen year was very impressive before we knew who Watson or Lawrence were.
2010 ruined his chances of even being considered a good player.

Might want to consider Parker, considering he played most of the season, including the second half of the Auburn game with a busted rib or two. Greene could not run the option worth a durn. Tried to get West and his crew to recruit a little QB from the low country, but they only wanted him as a dback. He finished second in the Heisman. I give you Joe Hamilton. He could have also been our point guard.
