and ate my crow. In fact, I did that before last year even. Dabo abandoned the Fun 'N Punt tendencies of the Tommy Bowden offensive era, and we have had much success ever since.
However, that doesn't change the fact that Tammy Bowden was a horrible coach, and a horrible hire, and his contract extension after beating SCAR was probably the worst financial decision of all time.

administration to take football seriously again and spend money on facilities etc. and upgrading the talent level on the team not to mention the coaching staff? You know it was TB that helped convince Terry Don Phillips to give Dabo a shot. You must not remember the Tommy West years as well as I do. The Tommy Bowden era was a major upgrade. I'll even say without TB we would still be an "also ran" in college football.

Thank you. TB was not a great coach. But he talked a lot about the need to upgrade facilities to enhance recruiting. Yes, he got Dabo from a nothing job - had faith in him and the rest is history. He and his wife loved Clemson and his daughter graduated from Clemson. Leave the guy alone!

The "powers that be" didn't seem to have a problem when Florida State was winning the ACC every year. However, when Wake Forest and Boston College managed to win the ACC, the lack of an ACC championship or even Division championship under Tommy Bowden at Clemson became untenable.

Looked like a deer in head lights most of the time when we lost at games we were favored in. Loved professor Spence and the bubble pass.Opposing coaches knew what the next play was because of alignment.Need I say more?

His teams would be half way down the hill before the cannon sounded. It was a big issue then and one that Dabo fixed immediately when he was interim. I think its been taken too far with this two by two down the hill crappp!

1. Took over a 3-8 team and got us back to winning seasons
2. Pushed for many facility improvements
3. Hired Dabo
#3 is enough for us to lay off Tommy. 9-4 was his ceiling here but without him Dabo Swinney never becomes our coach. So lets go easy on Tommy.
