The Citadel coach hopes his Bulldogs can hang in there against Clemson

The Citadel head coach Brent Thompson is looking for his Bulldog team to make it a game for as long as they can Saturday at No. 1 Clemson. Playing the nation’s top-ranked team isn’t something new for the FCS program. Full Story »

time around to be no different. However, unlike the Coots, Clemson plays to a high standard regardless of the opponent. It may take until mid second quarter, but we will out-athlete them fairly quickly. If not, it's all on us, because nobody will argue that we don't have by far the superior athletes to choose from.

We’ll try to beat them and separate going into the first quarter and it will be time for everybody to play by the second quarter.

Go Tigers!

The Citadel always plays hard, and I respect them for playing big road games. Beating Georgia Tech, and giving Alabama a tough game into the second half recently. This would have been a good year to play Coastal Carolina.
I fondly remember a couple of their wins over the Coots. One was a great Saturday back in 1981. On the same day Clemson beat #8 ranked UNC 10-8 in Chapel Hill, later that day The Citadel beat the Coots in Columbia!
On our way to the National Championship.....

We have young players that need experience...And Heisman hopefuls that need stats.
