The fact of the matter is, if Spurrier wasn't drunk,

Oct 2, 2013, 9:22 AM

why pull the episode from the web and reruns?

Why not have him make a statement about being "tired" or some other BS.

The silence is deafening and more telling than anything.

I guarantee if a Clemson coach was "tired" like this on TV..

Oct 2, 2013, 9:29 AM

...the Capons would be crowing about it.

Now that their effort to quash the video evidence has failed, it should be interesting to see how they defend their actions ... if, indeed, Spurrious was merely "tired".

They will either....

Oct 2, 2013, 9:32 AM

ignore it, casually dismiss it, deny it, rationalize it or attempt to justify it before they ever admit he did anything wrong.

You're absolutely right though...if this was a Clemson coach, they would be all over it like a chicken on a Junebug.

If this thing does hit the national media and becomes a story, they'll make-up some BS lie about how Slurrier took some kind of new prescription medication the side effects from which (totally unknown to Slurrier) were the cause of his "unusual" behavior.

while it is fairly obvious there is not definitive proof like a breathalyzer. so ignore and dont address it is their easiest defense

Here's another question. How many carolina fans you think watch the D. Swinney show. I would say not many but every other post is about the Spurrier tv show that was taped in the middle of the night after his team was woefully bad. It's amazing that the #3 team in the country's fan base is obsessed with the hbc. By the look of this board it's obvious where the focus stays for this fanbase and it's down the interstate a few miles.

We're obsessed? When Dabo farts Spurrier talks about

Oct 2, 2013, 10:21 AM

it in his press conferences (albeit in thinly-veiled references).

If Dabo ever did a coaches show hammered on who-knows-what, you know you Coots would be all over it.

Which fanbase was it that FOIA'ed the dashboard cam video of a speeding ticket Dabo got?

Considering that nobody on T-net had a DVR'd copy of

Slurrier's show available to record and post should answer your question about how much we care in general. Once it got out that he was hammered filming a school-sponsored broadcast, that's when we started paying attention.

First your program has the gall to ban your local paper's most celebrated sports columnist from even mentioning Slurrier's program in print, which quickly reversed once this affront on journalistic integrity was aired in public. Now this same program is burying any and all copies of Slurrier's televised drunk parade in a desperate attempt to sweep it under the carpet to stave off further embarrassment.

Remember, shinola can only cover a #### pile for so long, and time is running out. Enjoy.

All they are trying to do is make it where it doesn't get blown out the water an cause a big national scene. I'm really surprised it hasn't been brought up yet by any sports site yet.

Opposing fans are always going to overreact to the actions of their arch rival.

I am not foolish enough to believe our fans are any better nor are they any worse than your fans.

Don't flatter yourself Clueless09....

Oct 2, 2013, 10:40 AM

Your fans are MUCH worse.

Coach Wangus gets arrested for public intoxication and urinating on a public street during a coaches clinic, other coaches are involved in a physical altercation on the sidelines during a game, and now Slurrier shows-up for his weekly television show clearly under the influence.

You Capons must be so proud.
