Spring Break is almost upon us once again. It is cosmically

unfair that the kids in college right now are going to be in the frontline news stories for the second year now, in how they congregate and unintentionally cause Covid "spikes" during spring break.

For many of them, this will be the first time that the real world comes calling. By that, I mean that they will be forced to choose between what they WANT to do on spring break, and what they NEED to do on that same spring break, to avoid possibly dire consequences. They will be faced with that "want vs need" decision hundreds of times in their lives going forward. I wish for them that this virus was under better control by now, so that they could let it all hang out and be kids for awhile longer.

You only get the college experience once. Some of us, who had to study our considerable ar$es off just to pass, missed out on some of it even when we were there. It was that old "want vs need" thing, yet again. Enjoy yourselves all you can this spring break, guys and gals. But, keep a weather eye out for that 4 letter word called Covid-19.

If I were a college student now, I would not give Covid a second thought while on spring break. Have fun... you'll only be a college student once.

You are out of touch with kids today. They are ignoring Covid nearly completely and try to live life as "normal" as they can. They are unconcerned by this virus, I can promise you that. I have 2 kids in college, and I have talked to them extensively and their friends.

Lots of parents in the facebook group are asking for suggestions for easy classes their kids can take in summer school so they can pass enough hours to keep their scholarships. Seems to me like what their kids NEED to do for spring break involves books and computers, rather than sun and fun.
